Of course I was taking the piss, but FL can do mostly everything for real.

Yes, so can Ableton. And Cubase. And Logic. And Renoise (and with that every other tracker software with vst support). And Reason. And Reaktor (if you're a scientist). And Reaper. And EnergyXT. And the list goes on and on...

Perhaps you lot forgot, and i quote back a bit to Retape's statement on this very page, that these are DAWs, Digital Audio Workstations. They are there to shell the possibilities of you, the user, to create music using sampler and synthesizer plugins of choice, midi and sample editing, etc. Everything is possible in these applications basically, and aren't limited at all. There are only so many versions (variations) of this interface, whichever suits you the best is your choice.

No need to bash one DAW into the ground because you're spoiled by the other, you just can't use the other interface for shit.

i really thought that this debate would be settled once and for all now that we've created the 10 millionth thread debating which software is for pros and which software is for girl scouts.

it's because everyone who doesn't use fruityloops is secretly insanely jealous of how handy it is for making idm and they hate themselves for loving it more than their own DAW so they overcompensate by going insane and throwing batcocks.

i can't use fruityloops cause i don't have a pc soooo.....FUCK DAT FRUITYPOOPS SHIT! IT'S NOTHIN' BUT A CHILD'S TOY AND ANYBODY THAT TAKES MUSIC SERIOUSLY KNOWS THAT YOU GOTTA USE PRO TOOLS OR ELSE YOU AREN'T LEGIT!
