"The women are also dressed in period threads, and many have big Afros. I am happy to say it brings back an element sadly missing in recent movies, gratuitous nudity. Sexy women would "happen" to be topless in the 1970s movies for no better reason than that everyone agreed, including themselves, that their breasts were a genuine pleasure to regard -- the most beautiful naturally occurring shapes in nature, I believe. Now we see breasts only in serious films, for expressing reasons. There's been such a comeback for the strategically positioned bed sheet, you'd think we were back in the 1950s."

Guest Adjective

anyone i know that has seen it, went in expecting just a silly parody of blaxploitation movies, but what they saw was some brilliantly written comedy, timing, and a perfect soundtrack.

I'll wait for the DVD.

I'm getting a good deal on a 70inch plasma TV from a family friend while he upgrades to a full blown projection theatre system, so pretty soon there will be little reason for me to ever see things on release.

the only issue is I'm going to have to dedicate my whole den to it so I can sit far enough away.

This will be put to the test when the Hobbit comes out, though.

Holy shit, I kept seeing this on WATMM recently and thought it was just some old blaxploitation flick that everyone wanted to sound cool and say they'd seen. Didn't realise it was new! The plot sounds completely preposterous, I've got to see this.

This was one of, if not the, best films of this years Edinburgh Film Festival. I haven't laughed so hard at a film in the cinema in ages.

The bit where the henchman dressed as a cookie gets shot, and falls to the ground like a coin, is absolutely inspired!

I sit about 2.5 meters (eye to screen) from a 60 inch screen, i wouldn't sit any further back if it was a 70 inch. Think about it in comparison to how big cinema screens are when you sit in there. Do you like to sit at the back(about what it's like for me now), or somewhere in the middle?

You'll get used to it though. Everyone's different.

This was SO FUCKING GOOD. Just finished, still laughing. Had tears in my eyes at one point from laughing, when:

there was that happy time montage about halfway through, starting with the newspaper boy showing that BD wiped smack off the streets... That whole section had me almost lose it. Also, ABE LINCOLN?!?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't understand why this movie is clicking with a lot of people. I went into it expecting and wanting to like it after seeing the trailer but so many of the jokes and intentional goofs fell flat with me. Do you have to be really famaliar with 70's movies to get the most out of this?
