FYI to those interested, there is an article is the latest or next-to-latest issue of "the new yorker" magazine about 2 of the 3 people, the koch brothers. Though I can't imagine it's a whole lot different than this NY Times article...

i love how nowadays when they mention the world's richest men they don't even give a nod to the rothschilds, who are estimated to be 300-400+ trillion.

then again, by that logic, if it's known that the rothschilds essentially own money, who's the real richest man/people in the world?

Care to give any form of citation for that 300-400 trillion number?

From what I understand, they set up the central banks in the world. Not sure about the Fed in US but all other central banks were set up by a group of sons belonging to the Rothschilds name. They're corrupt bastards.

ever since Glenn Beck got onto fox news, i always had this theory that if the richest among us or the people who hold most of the power wanted to control a large part of the opposition they should circumvent all the energy and resentment towards them created by ron paul and alex jones and other similarly upset people who are continuing to grow as i type this.

I believe they have done this successfully with glenn beck, he has stolen or pulled the rug out from a lot of that genuine energy and packaged it together with generic republican disenfranchisement. in essence deflating real genuine concern for big government and things that go with it. IF Fox news can harness and control that energy they can redirect to something that helps their cause (continuing to reinforce the left / right paradigm).

I think it's quite the genius movie.

edit: i always get into arguments with people that the tea party or the backbone behind it is something actually real, it's not an entirely astro turf group. However the large powerful interests who have seen this have successfully sucked out all the realness of it and instead turned it into something to serve them. Im willing to bet the heads at fox news sat down at a table and actually talked about hiring Alex Jones for his own show, he has a lot of the right ingredients for fox news, drumming up white paranoia, paranoia about big brother, paranoia about the over liberalization of america, only problem was he's too much of a loose cannon. So they chose someone they could predict more and who would basically drum up the same kind of sensationalism... Glenn Beck.

that editorial is really reaching into conspiracy theory territory

Conspiracy theory is a term that originally was a neutral descriptor for any claim of civil, criminal, or political conspiracy. However, it has become largely pejorative and used almost exclusively to refer to any fringe theory which explains an historical or current event as the result of a secret plot by conspirators of almost superhuman power and cunning.[1]

of the pejorative variety?
