Let it be known that on this day, January 5th, 2013, that SR4, despite a video-game obsessed childhood, debilitating allergy problems, horrible self-image, and years of heavy smoking, ran 5.32 miles in 59 minutes.

Goddamn that felt great. 6 miles in an hour next mfers!

Congratulations man! I can never run more than 2 miles without getting pain in my knees. That said, it's my hibernation season and I've replaced my workout routine with second dinners.

Edit: Proudly, I might add. That second dinner hits the fucking spot.

That's interesting that you say that because shin splints and knee pain were the reasons I LOATHED running in any form....I honestly was working up to 5 miles in an hour slowly over time, and last time I ran I cramped up around the 3.5 mi mark and figured I might have pushed myself too hard.

A day of rest and I casually decide to go running....before I know it Im 30 min. in and im almost at 3 miles....and I realized I could do it no problem whatsoever....I probably had a gigantic shit-eating grin on my face at that moment....it was a great feeling.

Now what I need to do is hope that the allergy shots will kick in soon enough for me to go running outside more often.

Any marathon runners on here?

i've done only a half but I help train my wife who is a wicked marathon runner.

I'm sure this is true, my handsome, salacious jaguar bed prince

im the exact same way and understand what you mean, congrats Smetti. it may be a small victory but its just as important. ive been working out for a couple months now, nothing intense or demanding, and im starting to have a bit more stamina and ive lost a couple lbs of weight. i used to be a runner back in school but, ive been completely inactive for the last 5-6 years, so this is a pretty big victory for me. so i completely understand why youre so happy.

I'm on a fat-loss offensive at the moment. Started using Grenade. Not usually the one to go for all this shit but I thought I'd try it out. I very rarely have much of a caffiene intake so when I first got 225mg, amongst the other gubbins, it really did get to me. I've got about a months supply so I'll see what happens. Anyone else tried this?:

Per 2 caps:

Green Tea 500mg Bitter Orange Peel 420mg Caffeine 225mg Cayenne 200mg Phenylalanine 25mg Green Coffee 10mg

2 caps twice a day.

Here's the thing about fat-loss supplements like that one:

it's just the caffeine.

Caffeine has a marked and fairly well understood effect on human metabolism. It does this in part by inducing thermogenesis, which is probably where the "thermo" in your supplement comes from. Everything else that you're paying for in that would be questionable. Just buy some caffeine tablets in a bottle for practically nothing, eat some as needed and try to better eating habits.

I can't stress this enough: our brains and intestinal microbiome are both in large part responsible for the regulation of body fat mass in a really complex orchestration of signaling and gene expression. At this point the gut seems the more likely suspect, and mark my words WATMM intestinal health (see: fecal transplants) will be the next big thing in medicine.

Because of the relationship between food and brain/gut, I am skeptical that anything other than diet or carefully engineered pharmaceuticals will make it easy to eat poorly and retain metabolic health. Maybe someday soon we'll have a pill that causes us to use excess energy instead of storing it regardless of what we're eating.

Looks like a pretty well packaged product to be honest. I'm not a caffeine freak and so it probably wouldn't agree with me though. Green tea is a good appetite suppressant and cayenne pepper is apparently good to get your metabolism going and sweat a bit.

Benefits outweigh the cons in my opinion.. Caffeine, anti-oxidants, some nutrients (magnesium esp).. There's some wild research out there about coffee, and even if not all relevant coffee certainly great track record.

Worst thing about coffee is that caffeine, although useful, isn't always helpful. It can affect sleep, circulating cortisol, and isn't always pleasant at higher doses. Most people know that already anyway. I've read that high levels of mycotoxins are present in most commercial coffee, so it may be a good idea to opt for well grown and processed brands. Fungi can be a piece of shit sometimes.

Anyone here do p90x?

I do.

Also, if you want to gain weight...Get a protein shake with a sizable amount of carbs. I prefer muscle milk. Drink 2-4 a day on top of eating loads of high protein foods and carbs. Works best when supplemented with strength training (high weight low rep 8-12). Taking a creatine supplement will also help you gain weight.

Whoa, creatine is a naturally occurring substance in your body. It isn't dangerous unless used completely irresponsibly (i.e., pill stacking).

edit: but lol

Same here. I've been cycling p90x, p90x2, and the insanity asylum programs. All decent programs.

Totally unrelated, but one of the women from p90x 1 (they pronounce her name as lorraine or morraine, skinny blonde german girl) used to be into hardcore porn.

But back to creatine... I've vastly simplified my supplement strategy. I used to use creatine blends etc a-la VPX NO Shotgun/NO Synthesize.

I find I'm getting similiar results just using a PH correct creatine (Purple K), BCAA nitrates, glutamine, and protein.

I just take what ever amount of creatine is in my preworkout stuff, but my friends and family used to use creatine serum. It is supposed to metabolize in your body a lot better and be much easier on your liver.

I was wondering why they pulled her from the series after two of the workouts. I figured they just didn't like her screen presence. They probably found out she used to do porn.

Not really safe for work - It's moraine's adult filmography.

Yeah! I've been a big fan of the pre-workout mixes myself, but my last blood tests came back as showing signs of liver damage so I've stopped using em'.

I'm curious about this serum though as I've never heard of it. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, creatine stacking is bad news. I'm not really sure how much of it is in my preworkout stuff though. I just taked jack3d or c4extreme.
