0-11 nothing really

12-13 Creed, hard rock/ nu-metal

14-metal/ mu-metal

16-metal, classical music, j-pop

18- folk, metal, classical, poppy hipster rocky folk stuff. Finally got into NiN

19-23- music in general, with the exception of hard rock/nu-metal and skrillex-style dubstep, which can all fuck right off

I've noticed that in the five years since graduating high school, I gravitate towards the more mellow side of things. Iron and Wine, the more melodic Autechre albums (tri rep, oversteps, Amber), SAW 85-92 and stuff like Balligomingo or Telepopmusik have dominated my listening tastes for the last few years.

I assume this is a reaction to the years in which all I listened to was the loudest, most abrasive metal I could find.

We didn't listen to music in my house growing up. My parents spent the late 70s and early 80s in the middle east, so weren't really too up on pop culture. But my mum listened to Radio 2 every morning, so I would "wake up to Wogan" on the way to school each day.

I can't really remember what happened after that.
