If Ulillillia were a contemporary artist

Unimpresssed?! Have you ever seen anyone else float-running up a mountain then heading back down faster than even 1000 mph?

What happened to that documentary about him?

Initially they were having problems getting it distributed due to the soundtrack used in the film, now they're re-editing it to focus more on Nick rather than the floods that took place whilst they were happening. Here's a statement taken from the director on Ulillillia's forum (yes, he has his own forum, which he also frequently posts on!)

You are correct, this needs to be released soon. We're sorry for not making an announcement earlier, but we are currently undertaking a major change to the film, and this has caused the delay. After much careful consideration we decided to re-edit the film to remove the majority of the flood content, resulting in a doc that is almost entirely about Ulillillia and the world through his eyes. We think the film will be much better, Nick is very excited, and I'm sure you'll like it better, too.

I'm sure many of you are becoming frustrated by the film's delay, so here's an update to let you know what's going on. After much careful consideration we have decided to re-edit and re-imagine the film to remove nearly all of the flood content, leaving us with a documentary that is almost entirely about Ulillillia. The resulting film will be much more interesting and offer a better glimpse into Nick's world. We like it, Nick likes it, and you'll like it better, too. We will keep you posted.

The balance between Nick and the flood has been extremely difficult to manage. We couldn't ignore it entirely (we were living in a disaster zone and constantly carrying camera equipment!), and the best way to thematically integrate the flood into Nick's story eluded us for quite some time. We hope you and all of Nick's fans will be pleased with direction we finally decided to take.

In truth, the new version of the film will still include some flood footage, but it will just be less of a focus than it was before. Originally the film included numerous interviews with flood victims, basically making the film half about Ulillillia and half about this flood. After feedback from test audiences, we decided that the flood should be more of a backdrop to Nick and the interviews and narrative should should be about him and his world (which occasionally involves the flood).
