    cool piece. i like this quote from hillary: thats a real phenomenon and an important one to address. jon stuart describes it nicely here. if you're a fan of jon stuart you'll probably like to watch that whole talk, he's basically livid for an hour and makes a number of great and perfectly formulated points. one flaw i could point out in the piece is the author seems to misunderstand hillary's comment about making enemies with "the republicans." i think she was certainly talking about being proud of making enemies with the republicans in congress, and not the republican citizens of america, as the author seems to think. thats an important distinction. the term "the republicans" is commonly used to refer to the republicans in congress, but lends itself to being misunderstood. another cool hillary quote: that's a great way of describing something i've been seeing used by a certain group in america in recent years to great effect. it is an undeniable, dangerous, and worrisome phenomenon. another symptom of the problem of this period of time in which we are transitioning into the information age but haven't yet established norms for reinforcing adequate levels of skepticism and information vetting.

    been watching the colorized ww2 things on netflix. apocalypse: the second world war, and world war II in colour. both basically entirely comprised of footage. think i like the latter one better, and it has more. thoughts on hitler: people always make it about hitler. to me, the phenomenon of hitler seems to be more about the people that followed hitler. you can watch his speeches and what he's saying isn't all that compelling but the people are freaking out more than beatles fans. world war i has got to be the source of it. world war i was incredibly traumatic, and the germans were the cause of it and they lost. the versailles treaty kind of snipped their balls and they resented it. [by the way what was it hitler did with the actual versailles treaty when the nazis arrived in versailles? i remember it was something kind of childish and funny but its hard to search for because i just get sites about how the treaty caused ww2] it seems pretty clear that there was some sort of very interesting psychological/sociological mechanism at play in how the germans felt at that time. the causes of ww1 were pretty convoluted, a web of alliances, military strategy regarding timelines of mobilization. you can kind of see how germans might feel that they werent wrong for causing it.

    makes a good bargaining chip for future warp deals. the 64 digital analord tracks as a body of work are a monumental achievement and incomparable to anything else. i love shuffling through those. i think im starting to get why he decided to undertake the project, seems like the synths have a certain quality to them that the project makes amazing use of. like a dirty watery sound from another planet or something

    buzz from the melvins is a friend of the band and in this article he says the shortest song on the new album is 12 minutes. a year ago there was word they had a 20 minute song plus 10 others in various stages of completion. definitely looking at a double album, at least. also, they've never spent even close to this much time writing, i'm thinking we're in for a real monster.

    and besides, circlon3 does have a nice new sound, and its gorgeous whiners just want another acrid avid, or another fucking st michaels. they are dissappointed richard isnt continuing along some other path

    misc if you were at an art show talking with people and the artist was standing right there and you saw fit to express that the artist is responsible to only put out art that you see as groundbreaking, that's up to you. you have the right to be that guy. the fact that we're using screens doesn't make this different from that.

    you dont even have to go that far. curb your enthusiasm is more innovative and interesting than the wire. their use of outlines instead of scripts is kind of revolutionary, and they explore more about society by far.

    people rave about the wire but its just ok. kind of a bad acting contest with thin to cringey wrtiing. just decent enough for me to throw away hours of my life with.
