I drove by a grounded flock of Canada geese during work this morning, and slowed way down as I passed them so as not to scare them...twice. I succeeded both times in not scaring them. They slowly waddled away from me, but they did not go airborne.

Do some side work, odd jobs. Make something and try to sell it. Ask friends if they need any help that they'd be willing to compensate you for. Not all work comes from filling out applications, sending in resumes, and waving your employability peacock feathers. I've technically already done some of that thru house-sitting for the past year and a half, as well as helping with a move last December. TBH the "peacock feathers" aspect of job hunting sounds pretty nauseating though, which is probably why I've been so reluctant.

I remember getting stuck in a window seat a couple of years ago next to some guy manspreading and playing Candy Crush on his phone, depriving me of leg room the whole flight. Probably one of those douchebag Ellensburg bros. At least the flight itself was only about a half hour. Still, if only I could take a swing at the vulnerable crotch area without legal repercussions...

Decided to give Mother Russia Bleeds a go. Pretty dope adventure fighting game (a la Final Fight, Streets Of Rage, that Simpsons arcade from the early 90s, etc), but challenging as hell too. Setting-wise it's like Akira set in late Soviet-era Russia. Starts off with you beating the shit out of rabid hobos, then you get apprehended by riot cops. Then you wake up in some cold cell, after some guy in a hazmat suit injects you with this glowing green substance called Nekro. Seems the shady Soviet government was up to some clandestine fucked-up experiments, and you were meant to be one of the test subjects. Anyway, I'm stuck on the second boss fight during the prison break where I keep getting gunned down by both the head guard and the sniper. But otherwise it's brutal fun overall.

It's been a whole year since I last touched MD. On the whole it wasn't bad, but I felt like it could've been better. I was hoping for returning characters from HR as well, but your former boss is really the only one, voiced by a different actor. The visuals were solid, especially in Golem City. But I felt like they nerfed EMP weapons big time. Like you get EMP ammo for certain guns in addition to the grenades, but this time they only temporarily disable bots. And the flying attack drones they had absolutely zero effect on once they've already detected you, which was a load of crap. And the Prague setting isn't bad - kind of reminiscent of City 17 from HL2. But you're spending most of the game there.

Caffeine withdrawals are a bitch, man. That's partly the reason I only drink decaf coffee now, even in the morning. Oh, and it turns out I'm not hungover after all. lol. Definitely an acquired taste. Like drinking a container of bug repellent.

I wouldn't call that official. Still no solid evidence that HL3 is confirmed as not gonna happen. Besides, I though Laidlaw left Valve several years ago. In the meantime, I don't really worry about it tho. There are still recent and upcoming non-Half-Life games out there we can enjoy.

I'm curious; what was the pork substitute? Oh shit, sorry - I missed this post. So here's what was in the bahn mi: Great amounts of coconut/peanutbutter creme, there's some sesame mayo in it as well, and do chua (pickled carrot and daikon). Tons of coriander, cucumber, hoisin-peanut-dip, fresh chili, avocado, ginger creme, red cabbage, and something else that I'm forgetting. Most bahn mis I've had have been fairly dry but these are GOOOOOOD. No worries m8. That sounds delish. I should make one!

Finishing off the rest of that Russian Standard in my freezer probably wasn't the most rational idea. Fuck. Hangover tomorrow's gonna suck. But at least I'm staying vigilant of any self-inflicted typos or repeat letters.
