  1. new full length from electro dude reptant. samples sound great. write up is wack: "X’trapolis is under threat... Word is spreading fast that the powerful and long-feared Agamid lizard known by many as Reptilius has been sighted building a dangerous army on the outskirts of Squamata, exhausting the forests natural resources and leaving previously thriving, culturally significant and beautiful areas decrepit and lifeless in a greedy, capitalistic move to gain control. Completely unaware of this, Reptant returns home to X’trapolis after spending 5 years conducting extensive research on Earth’s unique analogue technology. With his esteemed Lizard Tech Militia stuck back on Earth, Reptant finds himself alone and must seek help from the infamous Gecko Force if he wishes to succeed in protecting his home. The Gecko Force are a lounge of superior prehistoric native Gecko’s rumoured to have been some of the only survivors from the brutal Agamid colonisation of X’trapolis which occurred many generations ago. With their power and extensive knowledge of X’trapolis, the planet and all of its delicate and precious lifeforms just might stand a chance... Return To Planet X’trapolis was written, recorded and mixed by Reppi T. Lizrd AKA Reptant at Squamata Studios, X’trapolis 2019-2020."
  2. i would say if you are in the market for a bass station ii, there is nothing wrong with this.
  3. new music from memory comp (which have always been great). this one in particular seems like something everyone here would enjoy ? "Music From Memory is delighted to be turning 50 with a special release: MFM050 - V/A - Virtual Dreams: Ambient Explorations In The House & Techno Age, 1993-1997 (3xLP/2xCD). The first in a series of compilations, alongside more in depth artist-focused releases, Virtual Dreams will delve into music produced during the 1990’s that redefined the boundaries of ‘Ambient’. This was music that explored the possibilities of Ambient music within a new setting, created often by House & Techno music producers for a world beyond dance floors but made very much with the pre and post-clubbing listener in mind. When House and Techno exploded out of America in the mid 1980s a whole generation was redefined not only musically but also culturally and chemically speaking. Peaking, quite literally, with a second ‘Summer of Love’ in 1988, millions of young people across the world would experience the life-changing ups of a brave new world but with it of course came the downs; enter the concept of a ‘Chill-out’ room. Whilst early Chill-out rooms lacked a specific sound and were often soundtracked by music such as reggae and soul, slowly young Techno and House producers themselves would become increasingly interested in developing a futuristic ‘Ambient’ soundtrack to a world beyond the thud of the main room. ‘Ambient’ in this new age now though had sharper teeth than in Brian Eno's key text for ‘Music for Airports’, instead here the sounds were the mode of transport rather than the backdrop. While the melodies were pretty, the soundscape steered away from the pastoral, dreaming of outer-space and technology as opening up exciting new dimensions. Much like in the first Summer Of Love; the musicians were again exploring psychedelic, mind-altering and transcendental possibilities of music. And also much as in the first Summer Of Love, a psychedelic visual language would accompany the music. Though now the tracks could be accompanied by music videos, utilising early CGI techniques, they would look almost entirely to the future: envisioning technology, nature and humanity intertwined in a new Utopian future. Virtual Dreams of a better world. From Ambient and early Chill-out classics, to lesser known one-off projects, as well as Ambient deviations by some of House and Techno’s leading producers, Volume One of Virtual Dreams features tracks by Bedouin Ascent, LA Synthesis, LFO, Marc Hollander, Mark Pritchard & Kirsty Hawkshaw, Richard H. Kirk and more. Volume One of ‘Virtual Dreams’ is released Dec 7th. To celebrate our 50th release the first 1000 copies include a holographic 'Virtual Dreams' sticker plus a special insert poster with artwork by Victoria Pacheco and design by Steele Bonus. First 150 orders through the musicfrommemory.com webstore come with an exclusive promotional mix CD, mixed by Tako Reyenga." https://www.musicfrommemory.com/release/6879/various-artists/virtual-dreams-ambient-explorations-in-the-house-techno-age-1993-1997
  4. his recent delsin stuff is really nice. "the season series" and especially "hallo androiden". a collection of ambient works came out a while ago called "ambient selections" which is awesome. earlier stuff on delsin is just ok. but yeah, older stuff - the cry, ten days of blue, indio (which is being reissued this month on vinyl). he also just dropped a ton of eps all on different labels.
  5. first listen was like WOAH. on repeated listens i'm honestly left wanting a bit. oversteps is better.
  6. kassem mosse in ambient form - cool shit! will boomkat you: "Kassem Mosse blesses Youth with a gorgeous ambient album under his Seltene Erden alias making up for a noticeable absence from the release schedule in recent years. ‘Scorched Erden’ marks Kassem Mosse’s full solo debut with Youth after the ’Silica Gel’ cut on their ‘Sports’ CD in 2019. Reviving the Seltene Erden handle last used in 2011 on a 12" for Mule, the modern house auteur yields some of his most preciously melodic works to date, focussing his interests for retro-futuristic and otherworldly sounds into a form of crystalline, iridescent ambient that shimmers shades away from the likes of uon and Huerco S., the jazzier ambient end of Actress and ‘90s Move D, and the lushest Hassellian 4th World dimensions. To be honest this is the sort of Kassem album we’ve wanted to hear for ages, seeing him leave the dance for dust and follow his nose into properly aetheric alternate head spaces, showing off that personalised, hybrid analogue/digital soundsphere and tactile design tekkers that we’ve come to love since his earliest turns in the ‘00s. He sucks us right in with the lush FM synth fronds of ‘Mythil Shard’ and, through enigmatic processes, keeps us there until the gravelly slosh of ‘Palestone’, via stunning pieces of GRM-like sound design in ‘Twinkling Titanite’, and the 0PN-like ‘Passage Jewel’, or the spiralling helixes of ‘Rising Core’ with a gripping sense of narration that marks this album, and him, out for soundtrack purposes. Tip!" https://kmos.bandcamp.com/album/scorched-erden
