    Not sending it out to (online) magazines, they were invited at the listening parties without their phones. Otherwise, journalists were invited to go to Warp HQ and listen to it there after the same strict policies. There are a few watermarked CD's as well, but the people who have that know that if they leak it, they won't get anymore stuff by Warp. Glad Warp has found a way!

    I still hope that they will drop the digital on the 19th (I saw that date being mentioned a few times on different sites), and 22nd + 23rd for physical release (what jasondonervan said). We'll have to wait to find out though! Need to hear it again ASAP...

    The CW release made him realize we really do want to hear his stuff, so he's prompted to release even more after Syro.

    Just was at the Utrecht listening party. Found the place by spotting two aphex logos on the window. Very strict door policy: ID check, phones, bags, etc. had to be stored before the security crew frisked you. The usual goodies were given, but only if you entered your name to preorder the album at a local store. Someone also walked out with a huuuge poster of the cover of Oor magazine at the end :) Before the album started there was a short announcement about Syro, with the notion not to keep it too long, because apparently the guy in Brussels told the whole life story of Richard beforehand... I'll keep my impressions short: the album easily exceeded my expectations. Overwhelming. Could've sworn the third track was a track made by Luke Vibert 10 years ago. Obviously a huge influence. Singapore track seemed way too short, but was so, so good to hear in full finally. Overall way more upbeat stuff then I expected, all very fresh stuff. Lots of people were talking really loud (typically Dutch), didnt really bother me though. Lol'ed because a girl sitting next to me told another girl on the dancefloor to stfu for the rest of the album, just after the last track. Overall, had a really good time, met some very nice people, had a great listening experience. Also got myself an Oor mag (translating asap!), together with a nice Syro poster + the bag with the goodies. (Also, did I just read Autechre cancelled their tour? They were just announced at a Dutch festival (Le Guess Who) last week, posters of it were everywhere tonight. Thats really nasty if true)

    Damnit, I think my tapedeck is bust. Just like with the Trackermatte cassette, this one also reduces 50% in volume after playing a minute or so. How does this work? Anyway, the music is gorgeous again, finally getting to hear Colundi through my proper setup instead of through PC is so nice + the tape sound suits me better then the clean digital version of this one.

    Will be enough counseling next week at the school for people that want to, but I'll be ok, thanks Stephen. Thinking more about the family and friends/classmates, but also can't stop pondering how such a seemingly happy 17 y.o. girl that seemed to have absolutely everything going for her would be capable of such a thing. So yeah, translation coming tomorrow I'll take both delet, cheers :)

    Feeling like absolute shit today. A former student of mine (17 y.o. girl) was found dead in a forest near a beach this morning (suicide). A forest I walk/bike through once in a while. I was actually on that beach nearby today because of a teambuilding event we organized for other students, one of them being the found girl's little sister that found out about it while we where there. Fuck.

    This. But I must admit I could also not contain myself when those BoC listening session videos were uploaded. Warp solved that really good btw, high quality footage of that listening session + people agreed to not film more than the first 3 tracks, no online leaks of the album or any listening session before the release date. Hope they'll manage that this time around too.

    If I'm not mistaken, at the listening party for Drukqs in the Netherlands everyone received a high quality headphone where the album was being played on + cushions and lounge seats everywhere in the room, with dimmed lights, etc. Blimey, really? Was imagining some crappy pop up building in Hoxton with it just being bunged on some PA speakers in the corner of the room. Beards fighting for digital vinyls. Ok, I was halfright, they had headphones with some psychedelic system hooked up to it. Then they played Drukqs from a PA.
