    Part of the problem is that aphex, ae etc came up alongside a technical revolution. Their growth musically paralleled the increasing power and obsequiousness of computers. Because of that they were always at the tip of the spear in the 90s. That change essentially plateaued in the 2000s and while there are plenty of other people doing great stuff I don't know if they are going to have the same vibe of never-before-heard music. Currently we are at the beginning of another AI driven tech revolution and I don't doubt there will be people exploring that in ways nobody has thought of. Obviously listening to someone's prompt output is not going to be that exciting but I think there will probably be room for clever people to take advantage of it. I guess its kind of like saying "are there any new inventors like Edison and Tesla coming along?". There's a lot of smart people out there but the lightbulb was invented and we're using a.c. current already so kind of hard to duplicate.

    yeah.. also the computer in it is less than great. it does seem like a bit of a compromise. i might be interested in getting one but i’m going to wait for the bugs to shake out

    new push looks dope. i really wish logic had a better mpe implementation. logic has better midi editing in every other way and i vastly prefer it over ableton. however the push might be a sweet setup for live sets and jamming around on. i had an original push but it melted in my car on a move

    looking into the possibility of pressing an album on vinyl. i think some people here have had experience with this. any stories/recommendations etc welcome. i'm going into this assuming it will be a money losing venture.

    you can do a lot with bandpass filters and envelope followers. Alternatively look into fft based analysis/resynthesis

    dude, just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t meant they’re spreading disinformation or are some tool of russian propaganda or something. cognitive decline is a real thing. biden is 80. whether he is ok or not today doesn’t mean he will be in 2-3 years. that’s not something i would have to worry about from a candidate in their 50s or 60s.

    this show grew on me a lot. a lot of the acting is great, Matthew Maher is knocking my socks off.
