    Thanks MrG, glad youre enjoying I've just found a fuckload of extra project files I thought had been lost forever in recent computor failure (I had managed to recover them and just hadn't realised it because they weren't where I was expecting to see them, which is fucking ridiculous but I'm so chuffed they still exist). So handing more stuff to acid waxa soon. Here's the 3 vols in bandcamp embedded form, which I just learned how to do. Thanks again to anyone who checked out my meagre effortz

    Just wanted to say thanx, I went with this. It basically suits me right down to the ground, great suggestion. Ive ended up sending the midi out to my mks-70 via the interface and everything else is chained after the bass station 2 which is getting midi via USB from the lappy. Works perfectly woop!

    Oh yeah I only meant temporarily. I expect it will continue to get easier, hopefully in weeks/months rather than years. But it's chaotic at the moment, and it's direct consequence of them leaving it till Christmas Eve. Was everyone meant to digest the new rules and implement them while they were on their christmas break? De pfeffel and co are ALL fucking braindead cretins with no grasp on the reality for working people in this country whatsoever.     Yeah, if you're in the UK don't order anything from abroad at the mo...if you're outside of the UK, don't order anything from the UK. The whole thing is a huge fucking mess. No one knows what they're doing, no-one knows who is meant to be paying what. Fuck the Tories for 'getting a deal' like 5 working days before the deadline, when they had over 4 years to sort out how it should all work. Utter wankers. They should all be killed.

    I sent a box of 20 7" singles to a guy in Thailand in October which never turned up...the fact that they could still turn up is blowing my mind. (although it the recipient was an English guy and it was getting delivered to a Thai kids school...not to get too elon musk here but I'd be fine if the obvious paedophile never receives those records)

    Up till recently I was using an xp desktop, using live 8 and an m-audio delta 1010 audio interface which connected via old PCI (not PCI-e). It was a great set up. PC died and I couldn't get it going again so had to dump it. If your pc has PCI slots, you will be able to pick up an excellent top quality interface second hand for extremely cheap as theyre several years obsolete.

    This is a really good point, re usb to midi...I recently bought a bass station 2 which is my first piece of gear that takes midi over usb. I think I could I do usb into BS2 and stick everything else after that using the midi thru of the BS2, then just have the mks-70 connecting to the midi out of audio interface? I have a smaller 2i/o soundcard with midi for gigs I can test this out on and see if that works. I should still get the mks-70 fixed but I have the pg800(300?) controller for it so it's still easy to use all the synth parameters, just can't do much menu diving.

    One specific thing I find annoying about the Boris government approach is that international travel restrictions/border control have consistently been an afterthought throughout the whole pandemic. They fought, won and implemented a brexit where border control was one of the central themes, and were handed probably their only chance to win hearts and minds on the other side, and they just fucked it. Of course everyone with a brain knows the border control arguments for brexit were completely bogus and it was just racism, but yeah

    I did not know about this. Any chance youve done this, and is it easy? I'm not an expert solderer...I can do it but I've definitely fucked stuff up before (not any synths thank fuck, just a time I was trying integrate a wireless phone charger into the base of a lamp....)

    Is there such a thing as a midi filter...something I can stick in front of the mks-70 in the chain that will take in 16 midi channels and output just 1. Google suggests yeah this probably exists, but I have no knowlidj. If that exists then fuck it, I'll just get one of them and the behringer

    This ticks all the boxes, might try and pick one up second hand. The only reason I want 2x midi I/o is because I have an mks-70 with a busted display, so it's a complete fucking pain in the arse to select midi channels (it initialises on all). Just running a completely separate midi out to it would (I think) knock the problem on the head, but might be a bit of an over engineered solution- anyone think of a nifty way round this??
