  1. I don’t believe in technology as the main driver of artistic creativity, especially that’s the case since the 80ies for electronic music Give ae brothers just a Nord Lead 2 and Nord Drum 2 and youll see! …and Autechre haven’t released a single track that couldn’t have been made with Reason 5.0! Max, no max; it’s the same!
  2. I don’t believe in generations and groups that would be responsible for significant progresses in art (no matter what brian eno says), only in single geniuses which are dedicated enough to actually produce consumable highest quality art. So, no reason not to be optimistic imo the only problem i see is that today those geniuses have less chance to be recognized in their lives bc of the noise we’re living in and bc fine arts aesthetics and morality in art is getting progressively less valuable to the ‘generations’; to me it’s obvious that it’s almost impossible to find modern music which is as moral let alone more moral than autechre’s music (ae probably aren’t trying to achieve that on purpose tho but it doesn’t matter)
  3. Sp404 mk2’s has a rudimentary sequencer but it’s good enough for me most of the time especially bc it has other ways of building a beat/melody/track. I’m somehow not interested in mpcs, at least not in the modern ones! At that point id rather just use a Macbook pro tbh, with Ableton and Max! Mpc1000 with jjos would be my pick if id go akai route. The mpc500 is great bc it’s quite a bit more mobile but should be paired with something else most of the times; an ipad mini is a great choice for a mobile rig, i agree ? My mobile set up for this year’s summer will be, used interchangeably in diff combinations, an M8, OP-1f, SP404 mk2, iPhone, Sony d100 (maybe with Usi mics)
  4. The mk2 is such a fun piece of hardware! One of my fav machines lately! Great combo with a Digitone or OP-1
  5. That’s what I said about my Monomachine until someone offered me 3500 euros for it! Still, i miss it badly ?

  10. Ableton Push 3 standalone is too expensive! ill wait for a Behringer Bush Tree for 79 euros
  11. I’m not impressed with this album at all; sounds like random browsing through sample libraries, very weak sense of direction in comparison to the first album Im aware that Im probably missing something but that’s how i feel about this album - today

  14. Many people had the silver elektrons, mpc1000 and nord modular and non of them came close to making anything near genius as the quari live was … so, yeah.. max cant help, not even if ae would share the system in all its entirety
  15. @TubularCorporation So you basically like vintage stuff? Me too btw… i have something you like:
  16. Ok, fair enough; you find them (te and apple) ugly or not interesting enough and that’s that But im curious to see which gear (comps, synths, music gear) designs do you like?
