  1. Quoting has just been handed a new set of parameters.
  2. I forget which "disc" I was on last. Shit. (was a few months ago) Which is everyone's favourite? I'll resume on whatever that one is, so that it gets disproportionate representation in my listening æquilibrium.
  3. Pretty much every aspect of the production and songwriting on that Charlotte song is quite leftfield. Nothing conventional in that one. Then they have other songs that follow a more traditional melodic/production/song structure, but still incorporate small doses of those leftfield elements. It's the blend of those things that make them a logical addition to the current Warp roster.
  4. It was Quake for me. I fantastize about being into bottles a lot, especially on road trips. But I never act on it. Peeing out windows is another big one.
  5. Really need to pee but this Swans song is 28 goddamn minutes long. Also, only one 6 and a half minute song to go after that, and I'll have made it through a 2 hour album uninterrupted. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to side with pee by the end of this song. New project title: Side With Pee. Warp will sign it based on name alone.
  6. This song is pretty interesting. Warp wants to make money with bands/artists who are going to appeal to a wider audience but also have a foot planted in the leftfield. This is that. It'll be reviewed favourably on Pitchfork. The name's terrible, but the music's way better than this this thread makes it out to be - watmm is of course consistent.
  7. Haha yes, that would be a match. It's a name that can work, but not for this. I'm playing with a band named Crotch this weekend, and they actually sound like a band that would be called Crotch.
  8. I really like the vocal treatment. What were they thinking with that name tho. Why?
  9. Already brought up this particular youtube series in here, but just saw a particularly epic interview with Sean Beaven (NIN, Manson mix engineer)
  10. But how was an Atom supposed to get with a full grown woman? Isn't she made up of like a billion atoms? I mean, if bestiality's bad, surely microphilia's the most depraved thing imaginable. Can an atom even get an erection?
  11. I want that haircut to catch on. Combined with the sexy torn denim short skirt, obvs.
  12. ... I see a bandcamp label page with a bunch of artists that aren't Bogdan on it. What am I missing? Oh shit, does this mean I'm one of the unknown???
  13. SFWP: facebook Scrabble chat censors the word "cons"? Is this some hip new slur I wasn't aware of?
  14. I have a friend who occasionally brings up how small his dick is, but I saw it once and it was pretty average. Hugely disappointing, ironically.
  15. Now THAT's what I call intelligent dance.
  16. I was listening to that album just last week. My fave Stereolab production is probably Spacemoth. It's one of the finest musical arrangements from any band I've heard in the last 20 years. i think Morricone himself would be impressed: The vocal treatment in that Gary Newman song is nuts! Really unusual. That's a nice looking collection Chim - Massive Attack, Les Baxter and Godspeed are all pretty reliable for me. Will check out the others when it's not 3:15am.
  17. Wow, I don't think I ever heard the rest of that Blue song before. What a fucked song. The verse melody/delivery is... something else.
  18. Brittle arrangement, dry plain toast - yes. Those descriptors sum the album up very well. You'd think in an album with so few tracks they'd have put more time into the production/songwriting. Either that or make it a huge collection of tossed off oddities for fans to scratch their heads at.
  19. Sorry to double post on this same series, but this is probably the best rundown of vocal processing I've looked in on... also, could this be a good FLA album post 2000? Sounds like an updated Millennium track (lyrics are cheesy as ever, but that's a given with FLA):
  20. I've oft fantasized about creating this thread.
  21. Lamb's Anger IS an excellent sounding album. Family Galaxy off Tim Exile's Listening Tree album is a a manic production that appeals to my ADD nature. The way the production gradually morphs along with the beats could not have been better executed. The whole album's quite stunning:
