    lol good clan name. How could luciferian slogans thought up by a 13 year old possibly be annoying? I was 16-17 in my Quaker days, but for some reason everyone assumed I was middle aged. I think my online maturity level has been in a steady state of regression since then. Only now at the tender age of 37 do I truly feel 16.

    : ( It's not good. But the two albums surrounding it are impeccable. It's like they wanted to try making a bad album for a change, since they hadn't really explored that realm. Throwing shit at the wall can work, but only if you throw enough of it.

    I like RDJ Album, drukqs, Syro, COD EP, and even HAB more than SAW II. It's not even my favourite album of all time.

    This is the thread for posting your sonic bliss. Radiohead - Myxomatosis does it for me. Those rubbery distorted synths spread in stereo sound massive, especially with the bass and guitar in unison. And then the whole thing opens up even more with the pads. What can I say - I'm a sucker for the wall of sound. But it's the uniqueness of that bendy synth that really catches my ear, along with that infectious and hypnotic drum groove that keeps things grounded down the centre. 10/10 perfect production.

    Back when I used to play Quake on this California server, there was a player called The Edge, who had a short key set to say "yOu'Ve BeEn EdUcAtEd!" whenever he fragged someone. In retrospect, it was quite obnoxious. Popped into my head this morning for no particular reason. Also, I've noticed I refer to the time I wake up as the morning, even though it's usually after noon these days.

    Ken Marshall, guy who's been involved with Skinny Puppy production since Mythmaker, has been doing production tip vids for a little while. He's very smiley. This is an interesting look at some of the vocal production on Weapon: Some cool ideas in there. Might have to try out that subharmonic thing.

    I remember when that first came out I got way too big a kick out of feeding samples through it and hearing what came out the other end. And yes, I did devote a folder to it that I visited frequently while making my pseudo-ambient album.

    I downed me so many Coronas this weekend, I surely had a virus. j/k I didn't drink any Coronas this weekend. in fact, I never drink Corona, unless it's handed to me with a lime wedge in the top. Sorry not sorry.

    Ahhh, yeah that kind of makes sense. It is one of those "I agree to do it all for X" and then you end up chiseling away to your own perfectionistic standards and realize you should have actually charged XYZ. Been there. Although I just get these gigs very occasionally, and then last couple have amounted to $100/hour-ish. But if it's a bigger project rather than a one off tune, it's bound to boil down into a slave wage thing at some point. I've definitely experienced that before.

    Your life sounds very much like my old room mate/guitarist. He's always getting so much work doing music/sound editing for documentaries/ads and the like that he has little time left over for anything else beyond sleep... and fishing (had to fire him from my band twice because he was just too busy... but goddamn he was the perfect fit for that role). Makes mad cash though, and gets to use his creativity for it. I think he's pretty content too.
