Not necessarily. We have some wet cold in winter that can chill you to the bone since we are close to the water It can be somewhat unpleasant, but we never have those crazy winters where half our elderly population freezes to death. That's what it's like where Vsnares lives.

That does sound nice. I wish Victoria had crazy cold/snowy winters like that. Everything here is so mild. Even on our coldest day you could still where wear shorts reasonably comfortably.

There's a small town up island that my ex and I used to visit a couple times a year, where there's little to do but drink and peruse used bookstores. So every time I'd stumble upon some book that seemed like a great find, but then would never get around to reading it. There were many such books on our bookshelves over the years, all mine. Most of her books had been read several times over. I'm a brutally slow reader, so I really need to invest in a book if I'm going to get through it, and when I have spare time my goto is always either work on music or watch/listen to something.

Every other time I open the First World Achievements thread there's an urge to post "I achieved orgasm," yet I've only acted upon that impulse once. This post might be better suited for the FWS thread. Mods please reroute accordingly.

My highschool band formed before nu-metal became a thing, so while we were into some of that stuff when it came out it didn't have a huge influence. I had one song that was directly influenced by Korn and that's about it... the main riff was maybe 80% Tool, but in drop C. My tuning did not like that song.

As cringey as much of it is, I have to concede Korn was pretty original when they first hit the scene. Shoulda hit it and quit it, but c'est la vie. My dream is for Nu Metal to one day take the Most IDM crown. I've got a whole album of comp tracks just waiting to vomit forth.
