  1. I've been yawning these huge jaw popping yawns for 4 hours straight. Probably the most continual yawning I've ever experienced in my life. It started happening right after I drank a Neo-Citron that is supposed to be "non-drowsy". But there seems to be a direct correlation there. I mean, it's also true I haven't been getting enough sleep in general, but not in an abnormal way. This yawn attack is pretty abnormal.
  2. Scrabble dictionary still doesn't recognize "fap", one of the most common 3 letter words in the english language.
  3. More of a trolling extremist from the looks of it.
  4. Yeah... I've had this same thought for a while now, ever since the alt right kind of ruined offensive humour for the rest of us. There was a time where you could make the most tasteless jokes about whatever and it was a given that you said it with a heaping dose of irony. Now you have to explain that "one in the front, one in the back, 6 million in the ashtray" is meant to be the most horrible thing ever and not your misanthropic wet-dream. I mean... what you said should be taken as a joke, because it's completely preposterous on the surface of it... but I think we really have reached that point.
  5. Damn, I miss playing that game. I stopped after the hdmi input on my tv died several years back. Never bothered looking into getting it fixed. My life is probably better for it. But I do look back fondly on my xbox days.
  6. :( No consolation here! I'd be more consoled knowing my fellow watmmers are having nothing but safe road experiences that aren't bringing them inches from death. I actually think bikes should be ridden on the sidewalk whenever possible. There might be more accidents overall, but none would ever be fatal. FWP - forgot to bring a customer's drink to her when I delivered the food order, and she seemed nice. Her drink is exceptionally good, but if I could go back in time I would give it to her. The drink I mean. Anyway, next customer tipped nothing, so karma was on top of it. But fuck me this is some good juice.
  7. I bet several 2020 political candidates will roll with some variation of "perfect vision" for their campaign slogans.
  8. You read it correctly. Aux, glad you're okay. Scary stuff. I too almost had a near death experience on the road, when some idiot went speeding through a red light while I was passing through the green. Had I entered the intersection a split second earlier he would've careened into the driver's side door. Alternately, a split second later than that I would have collided into his passenger side. I don't think my reflexes would have been fast enough to avoid either of these scenarios (I think we were both moving at velocities where the collision would have been inevitable, luckily the timing worked in our favour). The incident left me weirdly unshaken, but I tend to slow down before entering intersections now... which hopefully won't piss off too many drivers behind me. Seems like the only way to really avoid something like that happening again in the future.
  9. watmm needs a "like" button. Also, "like" has been on a steady uprise in usage since the mid 70's, long before the facebooks made it infamous. https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?year_start=1800&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=7&case_insensitive=on&content=like&direct_url=t4%3B%2Clike%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Blike%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BLike%3B%2Cc0
  10. make it a ting "ting" reached an all time usage low in 1999, and it's usage increased only marginally between then and 2008. The dictionary usage chart unfortunately doesn't go beyond that year, for reasons unknown to me. This is most unfortunate, as I suspect there has been a major spike in the usage of "ting" since the release of GTA IV and it's highly memorable racist Jamaican stereotype character. That game was released conveniently the same year this chart stops: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=ting&case_insensitive=on&year_start=1818&year_end=2018&corpus=15&smoothing=7&share=&direct_url=t4%3B%2Cting%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Bting%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BTing%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BTING%3B%2Cc0 Interestingly, "poop" usage is the highest its been since the end of WWII, and has been on a steady rise since grunge broke (at least it was in 2008). This is after the 80's almost wiped it out entirely. https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?year_start=1800&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=7&case_insensitive=on&content=poop&direct_url=t4%3B%2Cpoop%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Bpoop%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BPoop%3B%2Cc0
  11. Looked up the word "kismet," observed its usage has been on the uprise since 1994, which is the year Magic the Gathering came out with the card "Kismet". Again, I think there's a connection. Exhibit B: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?year_start=1800&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=7&case_insensitive=on&content=kismet&direct_url=t4%3B%2Ckismet%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3BKismet%3B%2Cc0%3B%3Bkismet%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BKISMET%3B%2Cc0 This is officially my nerdiest watmm post.
  12. That snare guy would be nothing if Aphex Twin hadn't developed the snare rush back in 1993.
  13. I looked up the word "comely," and observed that it's usage has been on the uprise since the turn of the century, which is right around the time Neutral Milk Hotel released an album with the song "Oh Comely". I've concluded that "comely" has come back in style as a direct result of that song. See exhibit A below: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?year_start=1800&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=7&case_insensitive=on&content=comely&direct_url=t4%3B%2Ccomely%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Bcomely%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BComely%3B%2Cc0
  14. That coffee shop scene is great. I didn't realize there was still CK stuff I hadn't seen! Thought I watched that series, but perhaps not.
  15. I've observed that my laughter has evolved quite substantially in the last few years, to something a bit higher pitched and more ecstatic overall. More forceful. Perhaps more of FLOL than a lol.
  16. I wrote that exact same thing in the observations thread, but then changed it to "totally bananas" because I don't know why.
