Which record store was this at?
Amoeba Music Hollywood, yo
Why, was it yours? lol
Nope, you just went there on a good day. Is it black or bronze?
Black.
Wasn't any Aphex vinyl but I wasn't surprised.
The bounty from Sunday's record store visit:
Modeselektion Vol. 1
Modeselektor - Monkeytown
Solvent - Solvent City
Ceephax Acid Crew - Unstoppable Phax Machine
Venetian Snares - Cubist Reggae
The Black Dog - Bytes !!!!!!!!
What makes this shopping trip even better is that I paid solely with gift certificates I got for my birthday earlier this year so I paid $0.00 out of pocket.
I slept on the Amon Tobin show in Los Angeles and now it's sold out. Trying to find tix for under $85 but can't and afraid I might have to miss the show.
Herb will always be my favorite Primus drummer (and one of my all time favorite drummers in general) but I can't wait to hear how Jay's style meshes with the Les and Lar of today. I think only good can come if this. These guys are so creative and unique and I think collaborating with different players is what they need to keep things fresh and interesting (for themselves as much as for their fans)
Primus is one of those bands that I purchase albums from without needing to hear a single note before hand. Consider this one purchased.
"Short Attention Span" was still tagged as Ovuca, and it's on the same Bandcamp account, isn't it?
yep. But I think you can input a different "artist name" for each track and/or release, and he might have accidentally left it blank or something.
Or not. But it seems obvious that it's an Astrobotnia release, and not an Aleksi Perala release.
I doubt he would release anything he felt is sub par...
Anyway I agree with the general consensus here regarding 0, wow, this album is amazing!
Doesn't Bandcamp metatag your tracks for you based on the album info you input on the page? My guess is he didn't realize it was going to make the artist Aleksi Perala. Changed mine so they stay filed under Astrobotnia. Hope you don't mind, Aleksi.
Great list!
Loden - Buggy came out of nowhere and knocked my socks off. Really, really good stuff, cool to see another watmmer giving it some major props.
Also with you on The Books and of course Ceephax!!! the only trouble I have with the books album is that it's almost a little too mellow... so I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it.
