  1. I'm surprised no one mentioned the OP-Z's first expansion module ("oplab"). At 159€ it seems a little pricey but the sync options via jack are more than welcomed lol, I have a lot of troubles synchronizing my stuff with the OP-Z, especially my volca-fm !

It's my opinion and definitely not a general consensus but PORTLAND hit me the hardest.

Dude that attempt at "humor" is embarrassing. Seriously that forum deserves better.
  4. From what I read on the Nintendo Switch subreddit, people were quite happy with Nintendo's Customer Service. There's a chance it will be guaranteed and you won't have to pay for anything (hope so !)

Sounds closer to Elsex than NTS imo. I did not hear any Exai tracks within the live sets but they were made using the same system tho. Exai sounds to me more and more like a sketch of what would later become AE_LIVE / Elseq / NTS ! And it's my least favorite release of the bunch
  6. I first lol'd when they announced it during the Nintendo Direct but Tetris 99 is surprisingly addictive !
  7. That's weird. The "up" thing (basically a premium ticket) is indeed 99€ but the regular ticket price is 69€ !
  8. Yeah just saw that new retail price... I thought they were producing the OP-1 again because of the crazy 2nd hand market prices but they're selling it even more expensive.

Whoah nice Bleep exclusive ! Ian Anderson really outdid himself on that one !
  10. It will be my first time as well !!! My GF, who is not braindance-headed is coming with me nonetheless haha.
  11. They go on sale tomorrow at 12 (Paris time). Can't wait!
  12. IT'S OFFICIAL :aphexsign: He's playing on sunday !

Was about to post how awesome the Denver set is but in the meantime I gave Portland a listen and it's probably the best current era Autechre I've heard
  14. I can see plenty of reasons not to like festivals (sound quality, crowd, overpriced food/drinks etc) but tbh I don't see why you'd care about the lineup ? A 1-day ticket for Rock en Seine is cheaper than the tickets for the Berlin show lol. Anyway, according to their Instagram account they will announce some artists names tomorrow at 6pm (GMT+1)

I was just thinking the other day about the 2008 live patches they released, and how mind blowing it would be to discover some AE_LIVE patches in a hidden folder on their website 10 years from now!
  16. Omg that could actually be my first Aphex gig :w00t: The festicket website says tickets will be available on February 15th but it seems like you can already buy it on their website already. Probably will be a 1-day ticket purchase for me as well lol. Wait and see I guess !

    Well that escalated quickly.
  18. Binding of Isaac heads will feel the pain : I was only a few rooms left from completing the Purist challenge (with a Bible as the active item) and died like a dumbass because I did not knew that sacrifice room + missing poster do NOT unlock The Lost while doing a challenge run. Sorry but I had to get it off my chest

this is mostly an autistic criticism of their naming convention as a pseudo file name with the underscores and dates etc. if you’re gonna tease us with filename style titles, at least have it be functional inb4 a "[POLL] What's the best way to rename the recently released Autechre sets" thread opens

I see the same malice behind the live 08: "here's your cock-set, have fun now". The amount of dates of the 014/15 set, however, makes me think of a solution that works as a surrogate for a self-generating process. How many times have we theorized (with a vision ascribable to dystopia) of Autechre2.0, the definitive processor that will create infinite variations so that the music is new with each listening? Well, today we have 28 versions of AE_LIVE, for a total of over 28 hours. It is clearly impossible to distinguish one date from another, all different yet similar, spread over a duration of more than a whole day. In other words, it will no longer make sense to have a "favorite date", randomly choose from the 28, as if they were a single date, each time generated as if it were the first... very interesting. shows Eno's influence on their work too. Didn't Eno release an app that does what you are describing: same 'piece' of music, but different variation each time you listen?IIRC the app Eno designed wasn't different variations with every listen but rather a constant flow of generative music. I gave Miami and Montreal a shot, both are awesome. The system they designed seem to never reach its limits but I'm very curious about how Ae next era will sound like! It will sound like Max/ MSP... Yeah but Max/MSP sounds like what they want it to sound. Exai, AE_LIVE, Elseq and NTS share strong sound design similarities because they were made using the same Max environment. I'd like to hear what their next software sound production environment will sound like ! IIRC they said in an interview that they started to feel their actual system was getting a bit old.

  22. Been playing some AoE 2 with friends recently and we got our asses kicked by the IA at the intermediate level of difficulty. It felt as if I wasn't playing the same game I did when I was a kid lol
