Yxguden immediately felt like a guilty pleasure, reminded me of crowded parties 10 years ago. I guess I needed just that today after a very shitty day at work and played the album : it makes a lot more sense in this context. Sound design feels a bit exhausting by the end of the album imo but there are some epic moments to be heard - Xkirgyos especially. Also liked the album closer which sounds as it was made out of a timestretched sample from Robert Miles' Children. Also :

Finished reading 1Q84 recently, don't remember reading a series that fast since Harry Potter when I was a teenager. It was very good, loved the story and how each book had its own pace and atmosphere. Highly worth your time. Just started Erewhon right after that (because OPN) but interrupted it because I got caught in an extremely interesting, well-written but chilling essay on incest ("Ou Peut Etre Une Nuit", not sure it has been published outside of France yet).

OG Tracker is also very lightweight and offers a nice hands-on workflow, yet the idea never crossed my mind to take it with me on the couch and do music outside of my studio - mostly because I felt I needed a table to do so. Mini layout seems very thought-out and usable. However, I am not sure I would have bought this device given its price point if I wasn't acquainted with the Tracker already!!

Received my Tracker Mini a few days earlier than expected. Having used the Tracker before I felt immediately home, the Mini is extremely easy to get going. They added virtual instruments and provided more complete sample packs which is good too. It feels incredible to work on my projects while lying in bed or in the toilets (think Nintendo Switch but for music production). The build quality seems very nice, I am only missing the clickety-ness the OG Tracker's buttons had!

I wish I could do such amazing "spectulative autobiographies" or whatever. I'm obsessed with this album right now. Nightmare Paint sounds like an acoustic take on Garden of Delete "hypergrunge" which makes it even more melancholic. Quite an emo album in my opinion, but nothing wrong with this haha. OPN is the king.

How's the data bender ? Was planning on getting one at some point when I first got into Eurorack but it didn't make any sense for me to buy this one first

Sadly yeah, I experienced drift roughly 3 years after buying the switch (and 3 years after buying new joy-cons). But it was a time when I was heavily playing the Switch, and especially games where the joysticks were heavily used (Super Meat Boy, stuff like that) There is a workaround, online markets like Amazon sell joycon repair kits which are very cheap and are more than enough to fix the drift (my replacement stopped working after 8 months tho lol).

Well you can try to grab a copy of Mario 3D all stars if you really want a fix of Mario 64 on Switch (physical copies only !). I personally really enjoyed Mario Odyssey ! The portability of the Switch also makes it an awesome platform to play JRPGs if you like the genre. Don't sleep on Xenobladea chronicles !

OPN subforum is long overdue indeed. Very fine album, not as appealing as Magic OPN on the first listen to me, but I think that's great news because it feels like there is much more to discover.

That second single felt like Burial's take on trance and I am not sure whether I like it or not. I feel like this guy's debut album is extremely over-hyped as a genre-defining statement or whatever, yet it doesn't sound that unique. Lorenzo Senni's output felt way bolder right from the start imho (bolder and also way more fun)

Live dates announced ! During the Myriad tour I had to cancel my ticket to the Paris gig, one of my biggest regrets concert-wise. This time I will hopefully be able to make it !!

If you like mystery and puzzles, you can play both Switch episodes of Zelda. They are both amazing games regardless of the genre. There are good point and clicks as well (a port of Myst, the latest Monkey Island, every Deponia games, haven't tried them all). You can also go to the Nintendo website and sort the games by genres. Cheers ! (also, get a switch)

I have been trying the "MyHouse.wad" Doom 2 mod this afternoon and what a ride, it was really mind-bending. I don't want to spoil too much, there are plenty of videos online that really go in-depth on the game, its mechanisms etc. but if you enjoy Doom 2 or want an obscure, slightly horrific experience full of lore and set in some kind of alternate 90's reality, definitely give it a go!

Seriously? Is it Microsoft exclusive? Too bad, wanted to give it a go on the ps5 (first time I was a bit hyped by a Bethesda game). Will probably go get Armored Core then !
