  1. Maybe I’m in wrong thread, but I want some dirt cheap monitors for a hardware jamming setup on the other side of my studio. just enough to jam and record stuff to be transferred over to the DAW side of my studio. My main monitors are HS5’s, and I’ve learned them well enough that people say my mixes sound professional and done. thats all to say, something even cheaper than those. Would even consider going passive with a little lepai amp.
  2. wow. it doesn't matter what i do. you guys just won't like my music. i can't do structure, its just not possible for me. this is how i make sounds. i'm trying to glorify God with my music. thanks.
  3. On a side note, picosong is closing down, so I might just stop making music altogether.... ?
  4. Ok, I’ll just keep posting in here. It literally was just a playground experiment after watching the new episode of One Piece.
  5. https://picosong.com/wKKp3/ i was A-B-ing this to Exai yesterday and feel like it’s pretty good for a snippet I made in 30 minutes at 5am posting here because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever put out and considering pursuing as a side project. Kind of feel like I graduated to a new class in ableton skill recently. humble brag rant over....
  6. Backlit buttons, better gain, handy interface shortcuts, new warranty, oled screen.... not a crazy idea
  7. I need a better sequencer module, what else is there besides seq 3?
  8. getting tons of great stuff out of this thing. reverb is almost always heavily employed. i widened this and compressed, nothing else. https://picosong.com/wK3zW/
  9. I get some very unique sounds. Definitely feels like I’m messing with a modular.
  10. now that vcv 1.0 is on my comp, midi bridge doesn't work. i boot v .6 and midi bridge suddenly works again. i'm using ableton 10. anyone figure it out? i only want to use midi from ableton because the midi capabilities are so much greater in ableton anyone?
  11. i'm realizing that, besides the volca keys (?), the nyx is the first synth i've ever owned that has real VCOs (tempest has DCO), and i can, for sure, tell a huge difference. the thing about a vco is you are literally listening to the power grid. it's never static. i'm used to programming all of that subtle shifting into my patches, but i don't have to do as much with this thing.
  12. aroit, here is a little bit of a patch. 100% nyx v2 and no post processing at all besides a limiter. https://picosong.com/wNqbC/
  13. I’m in San Francisco and went into Robotspeak yesterday. Very nice guy, let me use the bathroom after looking at me and saying “yeah, you look ok” when I was in there, I heard him setting up some random synth arp. Come out and he is messing with a brand new dreadbox nyx v2. I started messing with it, and after about 20 minutes got some of the best synth sounds I’ve ever gotten out of anything. The onboard reverb is incredible if you know how to dial it in. He was book keeping but stopped and looked up and said, “dude, this is sounding awesome.” So now I’m the proud owner of a nyx v2. A robocall cut off my phone recording before I really had it dialed in, but I can’t wait to get home and dive in.
  14. I’m just hoping I get a fence job this summer and make $6k. Then I will definitely get an OT2.
  15. I just can’t see spending money on fx plugins when I have ableton 10 suite ive always wanted a real h3000, but the digital just sounds funny to me. Plus, that preview video is one of the worst I have ever seen. if you know what you’re doing, you can make most of those fx just through ableton racks. You don’t even need to use max. So many possibilities by using the simple delay set to repitch mode and midi LFOs.
  16. M62 is one of my favorite autechre tracks ever.
  17. Wow, spi could make like 5 albums with one of those.
  18. The stars would need to be aligned for me to have that much spare cash available at this point in my life.
  19. Well, they’re both groove boxes, and similarly priced. I’m pretty familiar with both of them, but asking someone who has both, which do you think is more essential?
