  1. Hey sweetie, looks like you accidentally stumbled into a grown-up part of the forum. There are lots of fun games and events happening over at twoism, think you would be happier over there.
  2. Dude you shouldn’t be ordering music it’s all on Spotify.
  3. It’s not possible to make good music without a MacBook 64gb ddr7 i9 hexacore professor with quad Radeon 4gb graphics cards and a 12TB RAID
  4. https://www.residentadvisor.net/features/1642 posting here because, it’s a good one, in case you hadn’t read
  5. Lol about opz. Meanwhile new batch of op1 is for sale at $1300
  6. That’s for sure true regarding one man operations. That video is pretty interesting too i do think the ableton stock reverb is excellent, and it’s been my main reverb for the past 5 years, but my relationship with it lately is a little dull.
  7. Never understood Valhalla hype. Like, they sounded good when I used them but not sure what sets them apart. most vintage sounding reverbs can be achieved by using smaller size parameters and lowpassing the diffusion xox, forgot about the RV7000—amazing one. Definitely lush right out of the box. i pretty much learned how to get stuck ableton to do anything I want, for the sake of streamlined workflow, but way more open to plugins nowadays. Been using that tal reverb, the basic free one.
  8. I still want a DN, but I haven’t had an inspiring session with it yet. Might not be using it right. I would get an OT2 first though, if I had the money.
  9. I would recommend buying a cheapo pedal, like a hall of fame 2, or even a behringer. Just see how much mileage you can get. I’ve gotten tons out of my HoF 1. said this before in here many a time, but the Roland DEP5 is my all time favorite reverb. also, the nyx v2 has an excellent reverb on it that you can use with outboard gear.
  10. Yeah, definitely randomeresq. The way it works takes so much guess work out of mixing. Monophonic, each phrase exists within a small spectrum world, like the same ingredients go into making the kick and the hihat (unless you use the hihat oscillator). Monophonic beats: very simple and effective method. re digitone, I played one again today (the keys), and I just don’t get inspired from a short session. I hate sound locks.
  11. Hahaha wow ? the human brain is amazing! it deonst mtater waht odrer the lerttes in a wrod ar as lnog as the frsit and last lteters are crocret!
  12. Ruismaker noir is an iOS version of DFAM. it’s amazing. Highly recommended. http://ruismaker.com/noir/ ive done an a - b and it’s freaking close, but a lot more features.
  13. There are about 30 cars idling in the drive thru of this chickfila and God help me I’m one of them. Also there is raw sewage in the air.
  14. If I had $1k I think I would get a oto bim and bam. And maybe a boum on the master but I’m not convinced on that one
  15. I only say that after making stuff on $300 speakers for many years (haha). but seriously, I’m not doing super technical stuff. I know after many years that my em1 sounds amazing straight into a system. Plain sounds sound amazing through a big system. The more effects and processing you do, the worse it has the potential to sound Definitely oversimplifying things, but I made the choice to be very subtle in production techniques, and all my mixes sound so much better now. I’d rather stand out in compositional ideas than be a Michael Bay trailer. Of course I would love some $1000 monitors, but it’s not gonna happen for several years. Might as well learn how to be as good as I can on a zero dollar budget.
  16. You know, I think I can make good music on some $80 Sony bookshelf speakers.
  17. I have timestretch on 2.8, I installed it years ago.
  18. I agree about OT. in 2012 it was like some kind of alien relic box to me, but now I have pretty deep understanding of it. Extremely useful box that is still very attractive to me. just the fact that you can have an entire one voice drum machine on a single track, 3 lfos, pretty great fx, man. Really want one again.
  19. man. i cannot fathom using tidal cycles. wow.
  20. In 2.8.2, everything is perfectly condensed to a single full screen view. Once they started throwing in additional windows, my workflow and comfort was thrown off big time
  21. 2.8.2 is my favorite version. I won’t update
  22. @bitchroast damn i should get an open back rack stand like that. i built one but i use it as a leg for my desk, and it's very hard to make changes on the patchbay/sound card, requires abdominal muscles that have weakened through fatherhood i did a fence section the other day and was dumping the remains of old fence at the dump transfer station, and a guy pulled up next to me with a truck full of old doors, so that gave me the inspiration to do some work on my hardware only jam space. right now i'm recording mono into audacity on this ibm slim. slowly improving since we moved to this house in January. i have my daw station totally separate on the other side of the room.. hopefully this arrangement will force me to do many live takes, then switch to arranging in the DAW station.
  23. I agree but right now I’m using a guitar amp so anything is an upgrade. Also need to keep it under $200. Got my current hs5 pair for $250
  24. What about a pair of ADS l400s?
