  2. restraint* wtf??? don't think i'll be pulling the trigger on one any time soon. i just have to get by on my ibanez
  3. damn making me want a pedal steel.... good stuff (i'm one of the snobbiest people on here too) i wish daniel lanois had this kind of retrain on the pedal steel.
  4. i do miss mine. i really prefer clickly buttons like that (mechanical?) opposed to these rubber ones on the cycles. and the knobs are so hard to turn when i work up a sweat during a jam...
  5. @xox why! you always saying how much you love em? i dont think i understand your comment tho. this is me trying to do some more crazy kind of stuff. since i totaled my truck on the hwy on saturday i just feel like posting song clips. sorry. sudran.mp3
  6. well damn fellas. i've made better stuff with the cycles in the first few hours than any other elektron stuff ive had.
  7. haha man, the chance knob is just instant insanity. control all and change machines is also insane. i'm really interested in the way ess got his live set super distorted. basically if you drive the kick all the way, the levels of everything else will start clipping really nicely, that plus some FM feedback can give you some really raw stuff. it has kind of a shitty elektron sound but it's also real good.
  8. yeah modey, i realize that now. i had an OT for a while and got pretty fast with it, but it's been a while. i managed to remake the pattern though. its a really good little machine. here's a snippet. i think its good enough to be a preset pattern!!! kind of sounds like plaid. pocari.mp3
  9. fuck elektron man. did reload pattern and it erased my saved pattern with whatever was in the project buffer and now my first really good pattern is gone. FUCK
  10. lol its funny to play modey's patterns on here.
  11. just got the model cycles a few days ago, but totaled my truck on the highway yesterday. lucky to be alive, but now my relationship with this new device is very "eh" it's definitely fun, but man the pads are terrible. coming from a tempest (which has the best pads i've ever used, they respond perfectly to the lightest touch, and it isn't hard to get full velocity), you really have to mash these pads in to even get 60 velocity. 127 is just laughably hard. and light presses dont register at all. it sounds good though.
  12. Damn u smart. I would just use that 8ccs max plug
  13. Woohoo, Sweetwater shipped my model cycles.
  14. Quaristice and what else? I’ve never used a nord lead.
  15. One of the coolest things about idm FM sounds is a lot of them were made on the mnm, and fm synths sound amazing with parameter locks. Lots of cool AE stuff sounds like it does because of the mnm. course they can do all that in max now which brings me to operator. Truly a wonderful synth, but ableton’s parameter locking capabilities are quite terrible. They are on a step basis and not a note basis, basically each parameter has a global automation curve per track. You can mess with step length to try to get it to sound like a monomachine, but it’s not the same. which brings me to my last point: there’s a new iPad app called Drambo, which is like a combination of an octatrack with a fully modular environment. I’m getting some of funnest FM stuff I’ve ever gotten from this app. Sounds good too. The parameter locks are just like elektron, but the sequencer is perhaps even more advanced. Highly recommend. I might even upload a video.
  16. the ios app is probably one of the best sounding synths, real or vst, i have ever used.
  17. body riddle, ted ep, turning dragon, totems flare, a few tracks off iradelphic, and a few tracks off feast beast. i think i pretty much stopped after that. huge influence on me though. if i had to pick one album, probably would be turning dragon. from track 4 to the end, perfection. i got so into microscenes in 2014 that i totally stopped following major artists.
  18. @TubularCorporation man, i would be so nervous to get the kit. but the price difference is amazing, which shows how much the labor is worth. figure they must pay a technician at minimum $30/hr ish to build it, if their business model is set up that way. how long is it going to take you total?
  19. Honestly, modey getting stock patterns on the cycles is one of the greatest achievements I have heard of in watmm history
  20. cool, calvin from sweetwater said they were told by elektron that next shipment is coming second half of may
  21. I just found out about model:cycles yesterday and it was real funny seeing modey playing coy for a few pages I just ordered one but I fear it’s going to turn out the same way as when I ordered a mnm in 2016 ? elektron should save a few units only for musicians that can pass an entrance exam instead of opening the floodgates to a bunch of tech guys that have bots set to monitor the elektron webstore and auto-buy any new products.
  22. Ngl, I’ll be sad when this is over.
  23. I call BS, Michigan is a bunch of teamster r-words
  24. Oh yeah, I’m not counting anime. OPM is amazing. Animation studio switch was kind of let down in the beginning but season 2 was still very enjoyable. One Piece is also getting really good right now.
