Very life affirming.

Makes me want to get high on amphetamines and get drunk though, so sometimes it leads to pretty heavy hangovers but then I just listen to the track again and am ready for anything.

It's really kind of hard to believe just how great both Beyond and the new album, Farm, are. They're fucking great. They're not just great, they're among the band's best albums. That's not the way it's supposed to be. Legendary bands release mediocre albums late in their careers that come close to compromising their legacy. They release albums that die-hards claim are great because they can't let go and everybody else listens once and never again.

But these two albums are different. They're fantastic. The new one is even better than Beyond, which I didn't think would be possible. If they had released Farm early in their career, they might have been a bigger band. Great albums, either way.

that's a pretty great solo. sounds disturbingly like the very end of my band's song mountains of the moon:

does anyone know if they are gigging songs from the "in between" years? or can barlow's prissy ego still not deal?

cos it would be fucking sad if

The Wagon

Live For That Look

What Else Is New

Start Choppin

Feel The Pain

etc

etc

all got erased from history

Nothing but love for Dinosaur Jr, and I agree with the new album, I was shocked by how good it was, I wasn't expecting it at all.

i got an album by them, something with "living", can't remember the name.. anyway, it didn't really gel with me at all, sounded like a bad indie grunge/sabbath worship band at the time... i'm thinking of giving them a second/third/whatever chance, but... is it worth it?

so true. and it's more than just being good. he's one of a few guitar players that has a distinctive sound. I would recognize his tone and his playing instantly even in songs I've never heard before. He guested on a few songs on the Lemonheads' new album that was out a few years back. I picked it up without knowing. After listening to the first few tracks, I thought to myself damn, someone is copping J Mascis' sound. Turns out, it was him. I can't really put my finger on what separates it. I guess he's just that good.

I'm ashamed to admit I've only got a physical copy of Beyond, but I'll make a point of it to check out their older stuff and their latest album.
