a few minimalish acts I've been listening to that last month or so:

Bangkok Impact - Finnish electro/cheese not too minimal all the time, but lots of great minimal EMS lines etc.

I-F / Beverly Hills 808303 - super dirty/minimal greatness

Container - super lo-fi American minimal acid, I dig it.

Universal Indicator - great to come back to :)

Manuel Göttsching's E2-E4 - this and a bunch of ash-ra in general. I know this is more-so krautrock/new age etc. but E2-E4 has total SAWII vibes going on, and other minimal techno type things going on, totally addicted to that album.

I'd say in current context, it's fairly safe to consider Robert Hood as more original detroit techno. I understand he's second wave technically but...you know.

Current minimal is awfully boring.

basic channel is lush. as well as pretty much all of what super lurker and azatoth listed.

for house though, I mean..there's so much out there. I like the Wagon Repair label a fair bit, and some masters at work stuff....

It's interesting cause i think a lot of house is going back to the really small runs of 12"s after being massive around the millenium.

but i mean that's the thing, post-UR robert hood is so different to the original stuff. someone who likes robert hood or jeff mills type music isn't necessarily going to like model 500 or rhythim is rhythim or something.

that's true indeed.

And messiaen really? are you taking the piss?

How you can call this dull is beyond my limited canadian understanding:

Can anyone reccomend some more stuff along the lines of Lulu Rouge. Im not a huge fan of hers but I feel there must be something nearby that might be more emotive and melodic but similarly dark.

I usually achieve this by mixing some bass heavy Christian Vogel loops over appropiate ambients tracks (hammock, sotl etc) Its a really particular kind of techno I'm not sure if any of this even makes sense.

I guess somewhere between GAS, Lulu Rouge and James Holden. Pantha Du Prince gets close.

i just find it grooveless and uninspiring. if anyone dropped this on a dancefloor id probably take a break and go for a cigerette.

Not a huge fan of minimal, the odd anthem like Villalobos' 'Dexter' is pretty good alright.

As for minimal, I get bored of it very quickly nowadays so I don't really listen it.

Fucking truth right there. I got that the same time i picked up his Fabric 36 mix which everyone was praising, and i thought Sei Es Drum was much better than the mix...
