WATMM Gear List

Guest iamabe

I think it would be cool to get some numbers on what pieces of gear are popular around here... basically I want everyone to post a brief list of your instruments. Everyone talks about how good 808's are but i wonder how much of the community actually has stuff like that vs people who just use software.

Mine:

Live

Reason

Logic

NI Komplete

NI Maschine

novation remote 25-SL

Korg Electribe

Mics/guitars/musical toys

/ basically the same thing as the "studio pics" thread, except that thread isn't t that active and it would be sweet to tally what kind of gear people have.

would you recommend the tetra? its at the top of my list of analog synths right now prospective purchases

yes (great filter) but not ideal if your a noob unless you like using the software editor, the front panel is useless in multi mode too

the Dark Energy would be my 2nd choice for a more hands on approach with a more modular style of audio mangling

Ya, I kind of agree. With there only being 4 assignable knobs on the front you're limited unless you have something else to control it. I'm completely new on the hardware/analogue front, but I am really loving it. I have a BCR-2000 I forgot to mention in my initial post. I found a template for it to control everything in the Tetra, so it makes it much easier.

this is the li'l gal right here

ElectroHarmonixStereoMemoryMan.jpg

its the old school analog stereo-memory man. it kind of loops if you hammer the feedback correctly. so, no, i haven't used a looper, which is probably on the new memory-man with the blue rays all over its face. this unit makes everything sound great.

ahh nice, haven't seen that one before. i'm using the one with hazarai (and blue rays all over its face), it also makes everything sound good. i'm quite partial to the 1 second echo, 300 mS + mod delay, and 1 second multitap + reverse. the looper is nice because it lets you pitch bend the whole loop, low pass or high pass filter it, as well as reverse it in real time. i'd like to get my hands on one of the old memory man deluxe analog delays.

Wow, you know, I picked one of those up once. The stereo-man was so good, I thought, well, the DELUXE has just got to be wicked. I wasn't happy with it. It wasn't stereo for one, and the deluxe was just an aw-shucks. Whatever extra chorus was just a pooper, and you couldn't even slow the delay down as much as the stereo-man. Not as cool in my opinion.
