It doesn't sound all that crazy, although I read that identified members of the press were put in a safe-zone which was then blocked by a couple of cop-buses. Also a no fly zone was put in place overheard, so no news choppers could get shots of what was going on. Reporters arriving at the scene were put into a barricaded area 2 blocks away, keeping them from covering the eviction. Multiple reports from journalists already on the scene that police were violent with them, including ripping reports press badges off, as well as some reporters being arrested. SR4 Posted November 15, 2011 Share Posted November 15, 2011 dont get me wrong, I support a lot of the main ideas proposed by the more organized elements of the occupy movement (no private funding for elected officials, more transparency, etc.), but I think its becoming evident that if you want change at this point, more extreme and organized elements need to organize...Im not talkin about extremism in sense that we should reform the Weather Underground or some ridiculous nonsense like that. But we want an American Revolution, not a French Revolution...we want the Black Panthers, not the Weather Underground, organization and intimidation through non-violent means and through strong, knowledgable leadership. i think im having trouble explaining what im trying to say. edit: The REAL Black Panther Party, not these xenophobic idiots in the New Black Panther Party.
