luke viia
...and music similar to it I've been pretty hooked on Disasterpeace's FEZ soundtrack for a while now and I'm on the lookout for more, similar music -- particularly tracks like "beacon," "progress", "flow," "forgotten," "compass," "legend,"... ok so quite a few of them. you can stream the soundtrack here if you're not familiar: http://music.disasterpeace.com/album/fez-ost Does anyone out there know of other, similar stuff in this style? That is, crushed, positive, washed out, sparse tunes with a good sense of melody, I guess. It's got a way of calming me down and making me feel all warm and fuzzy, and I'd like more of it pls! Some of the stuff on the Terraria soundtrack has a similar vibe (it's all a bit more excited, though), but I haven't found much else (nor do I know where to really start looking)... (I feel like the closest musical match to this style that I've found has been some of cryptowen's stuff, which is quite different but has the same calming effect -- so thanks to owen in advance =] ) if anybody has any recommendations to share, it would be much appreciated! Verdant Hickies
"Legend" reminded me a tiny bit of some Jean Michel Jarre and Mort Garson, idk the similarities are probably pretty small https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4nbfPZa9Ws harald grosskopf: Hermonia + Eno:
modey
There are a few guys in the Australian chip scene who make similar stuff, at least to my ears.. like this guy Alligator Williams: https://oscboxrecords.bandcamp.com/album/melted-heart
joshuatxuk
This Fez OST stuff is excellent. Tried looking for some stuff myself. https://iknowwhoyouareandyouarenothing.bandcamp.com/album/i-know-who-i-am-and-i-am-everything (only one of four "ambient-chiptune" tagged albums that seemed close) https://archive.org/details/Pb022HolyKonni-AmbientTracksAndChiptuneShit https://soundcloud.com/dcapo1989/ambient-chiptune-2009 maybe this is a good start? modey
little-scale's older music is a bit like ambient chiptune, his newer work is more towards footwork but still has a kinda dreamy sound to it. Plus he's prolific as fuck so there's plenty to hear: https://little-scale.bandcamp.com/
mcbpete
Inadvertently came across one - https://vektroid.bandcamp.com/track/infinity-diskette Although not always so laid back I do highly recommend Vektroid's albums, some sterling stuff in there
Joyrex
Rogue Legacy's soundtrack is also very, very good, done by Judson Cowan (aka Tettix, whom I've mentioned before how good his music is) and Shell In the Pit: https://tettixashellinthepit.bandcamp.com/album/rogue-legacy-ost

Joyrex
Another videogame soundtrack (well, song) that's got my ear right now is the version of the "Tetris Music" on Ubisoft's Tetris Ultimate - you can hear a bit of it here, and honestly it sounds like Boards of Canada's take on it (although I am quite sure they did not do it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To9R46mRLFY

luke viia
thanks for all the suggestions, dudes verdant hickies: that mort garson album is practically on my desert island list, I am in love with Plantasia and play it all the time. great to wake up to, great to relax with at night. don't care much for his other releases but that one is too good. really enjoyed the other two songs you posted as well, thanks! I came across the OST for the game "Dustforce" (which I've never played) and it's kinda in the vein I was looking for... http://lifeformed.bandcamp.com/album/fastfall-- just wish I could get versions without those huge half-time beats in there!
