took me about ten years but i finally really love this band. was listening to a thousand leaves when things clicked into place, now i'm going through their discography. i think that album is their strongest, but of course daydream nation is pretty close to perfect and sonic nurse is real good as well. man what a daunting body of work though, if you count all the side projects. ps: i've never understood the kim gordon hate. "she ruins songs", "her voice sucks", etc. she has a great voice and her songs are some of the best in their catalogue (kissability, cross the breeze, the sprawl, sympathy for the strawberry, turquoise boy).

i'm reading please kill me : the uncensored oral history of punk and it's got me wanting to read more stuff about contemporary music. i'm interested in basically any music scenes, the more specific the better. i wouldn't mind some good books on bands, great records, as well. i basically haven't read anything about music except kind of generalized things about music theory, which i'm not that interested in.

i just recently re-installed windows over a nasty crash over the weekend and decided to try foobar for a change to winamp. it looks rather big and lots of wasted space also i want last.fm scrobbling (i kind of found it already) and a nice dark minimal theme/skin (or as compact as winamp was) so watmm i know there are some die hard foobar fans on here. show me the money.

I sowed a few seeds in december into a crock and put it near a window. Only one seed succeeded in growing up because of the lack of light. In march, this very plant were less than 20 cm, and started blooming. I cut short this, because i wanted my plant to be taller before it starts blooming, then planted it in the garden. As for now the plant seems to flourish again, but i'm not sure what to do about the messy branches at the base of the plant (and that are the result of the previous anti-bloom pruning) all the more so a pink laurel is hiding the sunlight for these lower branches.
