  1. There's a very fine line between inaccessibility/complexity and wankery and I think it crosses that line and is far too often lacking musicality. I didn't enjoy it, that's all. Exai on the other hand straddles that line and does so successfully. In my opinion of course. Theme of a sudden roundabout is a good track though.
  2. Draft was terrible, IMO. But exai delivers in that it's dark but it also seems playful to me. I didn't find it depressing. It felt in a similar vein to some RDJ tracks actually, dark and a little twisted but playful. Some of the tracks are absolutely jaw dropping, some of the best composition and programming I've ever heard... VekoS and 1 1 Is come to mind immediately. Tomorrow's Harvest was absolutely depressing; Tomorrow's Harvest was a good look at our bleak future. I find that one of the most depressing albums I've ever heard but I don't feel that way when I put on Exai.

The percussion moves in and out and the bass bubbles up from the bottom left towards the top right. At least that's the way it images on my stereo. I found it very interesting.
  4. ugh... my next accounting course... 80% of the grade is based on two closed book exams. =(
  5. I can't get over m39 diffain. Such a beast of a track. Shaking things off the walls...
  6. Confield is good. Not a fan of draft. Not sure where you're hearing "dry" percussion in l event though? I hear it in Exai but this sounds soggy as shit. lol
  7. I noticed this too, not the same, but very close. Fastroll was extra funky piece though, Osla's more like exercise in odd rhythm Osla for n's rhythm is mostly a shuffle tweak set to randomize or heavily shuffle the beat...2-3 minutes in they twist the shuffle slowly to 'off' or nearly off, and the regular (regular for AE at least...) beat appears. or some similar process. I noticed this on the first play through and was already bored with the track, so kind of realizing there's not even some cool reason for it, i just don't understand the need for this track. does nothing at all for me, even the one or two moments towards the end where the groove is bearable. Glad I'm not the only one that thought it was boring! it's just been out for maybe 4-5 days , give it some friggin time will ya also i'm glad i don't know anything about music production cause it seems to kill the true vibe and feel in music Only that track mr ooze. The other 3 tracks were absolutely top notch.

  9. All of the tracks are awesome except for osla for N. That damn repetitive percussion throughout sounds like when I scrape the frost off my fucking windows. It's by far the least interesting song I've ever heard from Autechre and I can't believe it's on this EP next to some of their best work. Almost seems like they were trolling or something. M39 Diffain is one of Autechre's defining tracks for me. It's absolutely brilliant. Edit: Did mushrooms for this EP of course. I'm sure it's great sober, but it was truly a mindfuck with the zooms. I found it very spatial (Exai was like this too), and strangely "wet" sounding. I don't know how to describe it other than wet.. lol. It was great.
  10. the rat video https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5r4uhp9remnbtz/VIDEO0005_02.mp4 this happens to me as well, i get really depressed sometimes after a workout, my mind get clear and i think about life, etc etc holy! he's a pretty big fucker. are you going to poison him?

  14. beginner calculus question that's been bugging me... Prove f'(x)lnx = 1/x... = ln(x+h) - lnx = ln(x+h) / ln(x) =ln(x+h/x) = ln (x+h/x)*(1/h) = ln(x+h/x)*(1/h)*(x/x) << change form = ln(x+h/x)(x/h)(1/x) = ln(x+h/x)x/h(1/x) = ln(1+h/x)x/h(1/x) Let h/x = s. =(1/x)ln(1+s)^1/s (1+s)^1/s for sufficiently large s = e = (1/x)lne = (1/x)(1) = 1/x tada =)
  15. Ohhhhhh lol ok that makes more sense. I didn't think you would turn full circle in just one post BAM just like that! Have a good Saturday mr!
