  1. I know ccai pt 2 is supposed to be drukqs 2 in theory and all, im just not buying it. Fun little release and super unique (and i did actually purchase it lol), but musically it doesnt satisfy me much.
  2. What if he actually put out a Drukqs Vol 2?? Lol wed all be FREAKING out
  3. made this collab track recently! wasnt sure b/t this thread or hipster house lol love to hear your guys thoughts :) thx
  4. Anyone see this stupid video he just made where he brags about all his hurricane relief efforts and the camera retardedly switches from front face view to profile side view every minute??
  5. oh hell yes, thank you! yeah everything about that thread is about the furthest away from the spirit of house music as can be lol
  6. I just had carne asada street tacos from the Filiberto's across the street.. I've been hitting them up for those more often than I should, but I can't quite describe the utter beauty and magic that exists inside that to go box. Also, I know that Filiberto's isn't as hipster and obscure anymore as they have chains many places now, but the one across the street is TOP NOTCH. Also, sure you may have had their regular carne asada tacos.. but I'm certain you guys have not tried their "carne asada street tacos" which are light and day difference, I'm almost sue the meat itself is even different, as I've noticed its less salty and fresher seeming. Their carne asada street tacos are extremely simple and what you'd expect from an actual street vendor in Mexico City. 5 small tacos- hand made w asada, chopped onions and cilantro on corn tortillas. They throw in a heap of grilled onions and a fresh roasted japepeno with some lime slices. Order it with a bubbly bottled Mexican Coke (for no hfcs), and extra red sauce (a mindbogglingly good hot sauce that has a bit of chiptole and bit of heat- i cant quite put my finger on what could be in it). My wife thought I was crazy that order this same thing frequently and rave so much about it and prob that i was a dweeb. She finally gave in and tried one and she was pretty taken back herself. It's also relatively fresh and healthy seeming compared to other drive through food... not greasy or deep fried, and seems like there are barely any preservatives, though who knows.. im sure the conditions of the kitchen arent award winning, but ill take these babies any day over chipotle's cold-as-soon-as-you-unwrap-to-eat-them, falling apart americanized "tacos", (of course i like chipotle here and there and they use good quality stuff so i cant hate them).
  7. yeah do it.. i was on the fence myself as i hadnt had dinner beforehand and didnt want nachos or popcorn to be my only options so i grabbed some food nearby. the order was taking forever and was already missing the previews and was considering seeing something that started a little later so i didn't have to rush eating. but i went for it anyway im glad i did. totally worth it--indigestion and all!
  8. I read before that the budget was 150-185 mil, but everywhere I read now says 150 only? I imagine that 185 included marketing etc. Or maybe that figure was just an estimate and the 150 is known to be actual now? Bladerunner 2049 will undoubtedly make its money back eventually. The problem is that studios and investors want that money now, not two or three years down the road. When you consider how Hollywood works now - endless comic book movies, (conveniently) expanded universes for every concievable intellectual property, millions flocking to see an emoji movie, it's nothing sort of a miracle in itself that Blade Runner 2049 ever got made and turned out to be so magnificent. thats a really good point, it is something totally extraordinary for our current conditions in hollywood, and actually makes me optimistic that at least great art can still survive in the major studios in the right circumstances. i have to say i was left with a sense of wonder and awe when the credits started, with the feeling of being swept off my feet and thinking "what did i just experience??... and at a popular harkins theater in my city's college town of all places?? with ryan gossling as the star... It didn't feel quite real. we're very privileged to be able to see something like this in a theater in 2017. of course blade runner is one of a kind, and a unique example of sci fi that's done so tastefully and artistically and with a cult following, but with nothing indie or small time about it. despite any shortcomings people have mentioned (and i kind of agree with the aspect of the forgettable villain roles like the one jared leto played and maybe how the score was holding back quite a bit musically)- however regarding the soundtrack, i think it was perfectly fitting. it would seem a little bit pretentious and wouldnt do the franchise justice imo to come up with new musical themes and motifs. instead, it paid homage to the original by revisiting some of the key moments in a beautiful and simple manner (toward the end) and relied more on the atmospheres and sound design, keeping it melodically minimal. and man, those pitch bending synth riffs... they were like screaming banshees reverberating past endless reservoirs and alleyways of the city's edges. almost chilling. just amazing.
  9. Finally just watched this tonight, and thought it was excellent. Not gonna make any sweeping statements or anything, and i expect to get shit on for this, but in a number of ways I actually enjoyed it just as much if not slightly more than the original.
  10. stream of conscious thing i did for kicks last night
  11. nice! what is the background on this unique but fine looking burger? that is a lot of pickles! haha i'm glad you asked. it's a set of two juicy veg burgers available for £1 in iceland. i thought i'd give it a try as i can't seem to find the quorn 1/4 pounders anymore. i'm a big pickle fan! most of these fell out though as there wasn't room in the bun for them. under them is some thin sliced red onion and edam cheese slices. under the burger is garlic mayo, on top is nandos medium peri peri sauce and on the pickles is french mustard. it was rather lush. Proper Job IPA to wash down. dayumm, that sounds lush. gotta say ive never seen a veggie burger looking that good haha, definitely game changing :)
  12. nice! what is the background on this unique but fine looking burger? that is a lot of pickles! haha
  13. Why though? For real people are obsessed with money over here. I talk to people about what they're doing, about careers and it's always, I don't make enough money, I'm trying to get a better paying job, I want to get into an industry with a bigger starting salary. I bought the newer expensiver version of that thing you have, I'm buying the new iPhone as soon as it comes out, I don't buy used, I know riding the bus is better for the environment but I want to drive because I'm better than people who ride the bus, I want to eat where I can take cute selfies of my pretty food and might not even eat it, I need to see every big budget movie that comes out on opening day and I'm going to watch all the previews so I know about every other big budget movie coming out, I need the details of every single big product release, I must subscribe to every digital media service so I can watch a constant stream of new content. Is it like that everywhere? I didn't say shit about imperialism and all that. All's I'm sayin' ishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXE_n2q08Yw I couldn't agree with you more on all of that. But these things don't define "who we are as Americans" or are excusive to america imo. It's a product of where western civilization, technology and globalism is taking us. Because this region we call the US happens to have more money and resources (whether naturally or unnaturally acquired) than most other places on the globe, we see more of what you're describing here. It has nothing to do with our character, nationality, "culture" or identity. People who become absorbed into the whole materialist pursuit will do so no matter what region they live in, where they come from or what allegiance they subscribe to. We've seen this trait since the beginning of history. This is not to say that geopolitical and economic power structures don't have influence over greed and corruption, just that making America (or any country for that matter) the boogeyman or inheritantly "something or another" is an illusion.No. That'd mean the same would the case in EU. Which it isn't, imo. So there is an argument that this might be more an American culture thing than you'd like to admit. Imo, it's more a us-product than a western civilization product. And it's not some sort of inevitable direction the western civilization is moving towards. But I'm afraid that's hard, if not impossible, to see from a US point of view. Because to put it simply, I don't think people from the US are particularly sensitive to differences between western culture and us culture. To most americans its either the same, or something that the rest of western civilization is moving towards. Which is not the case. And to put it blunt, probably a case of us self-centeredness/ignorance. You should spend some time in canada, for instance. Or in te EU. So non-US westerners in general don't strive to climb the corporate ladder, don't display their lives on social media, don't netflix and chill or get the latest apps? Lies. It's not a case of either/or. It's a case of differences. A corporate ladder, for example, is really a different thing in different cultures. The difference between US companies and EU companies, for instance, should be noted. Or perhaps more important, the rights and protections of employees. Simply because people in EU have more rights, the whole corporae ladder thing turns out like a different beast. Laws have a fundamental impact on culture. Although I can see where you're coming from, and I do admit there was a point in time where western culture was moving towards us culture (awful generalisation, but useful for the sake of the argument). But that is not te case anymore. As a metaphor you can take the paris agreement. Or, as an example privacy laws. At the moment, the case could be made that us culture and western (eu) culture are diverging, rather than converging. I think, for the sake of the argument, it's useful to take the local laws as a driver for the cultural phenomena we're observing. Different laws imply different cultures, to say the least. And the irony is that the current anti-globalism movement, especially in te us (note the discussion about the transatlantic agreements) helps creating this diversion in western cultures. Good points there and well said. Sold.Send a pallet of m&s sausage rolls, and you’ve gotta deal. maaaan, "M&S quality", fuuuuuuuck, in over my head now need to pay more attention in their food sections, cos the sausage roll business has changed dramatically, mein gott, look..... quite salty also these, mmmmmmmmmmmmummy, black pudding, an immediate fridge raid is now 90% probable bacon overdose? impossible homemade ones here are the tits, Granny's pass down these recipes in sausage-roll covens that meet at night in the forests, its like Hauntology but real check the utensils, proper bidness + the random meat tube dry heaves build character Damn those look so good

  15. Perfect example is the thread title -how about "How can the world encourage America?" to limit the amount of silent "fuck off, european snobs", because most of us watmmers in the us surely dont feel that way but its kinda hard not to want to take a jab back when we already damn well know that our country is a mess right now. What good does marginilizing it further do for anyone?
  16. I just think its more damagimg than we think to characterize what a nation of people represent in broad strokes or limit what it can be. For example--the freemarket system. We can absolutely have reform and limit the amount of loopholes that lend to sheer excess of the ultra-rich in this country (and we should). But what incentive is there to do so when the constant narrative is re-enforcement of the status quo. One of the many things that re-enforces that status quo is apathy. Limiting this country to how we are percieved on a global scale and amongst ourselves, a self-fulfilling prophecy. That and the fact that "well fucking America man, that's what it's all about I guess, right?" No one to tell them "NO", like the resounding demonization that topics like this thread perpetuate. For better or worse. Somewhere between battered wife syndrome and the phenomenon of how obese people often only play the comedic roles in hollywood and willingly accept the generalization that they can't be taken seriously as a people. If no one can envision a changed america, a bettered america, or highlight the good things about it, theres no incentive from within to make that change and strive to be that ideal. Nations are people--just on bigger and more complex scales. Generalizing breeds apathy, both on individual and global scales. Apathy breeds indifference, ignorance and selfishness--a vicious cycle.

  18. Omg want. Just a dash of powdered sugar and ill tear through my phone screen just for that. I will literally munch on glass.
  19. I'm a fat greasy American slob with mostly liberal view of the world, and probably an ignorant piece of shit, and I take offense to this. Also cwm is 100% on the money about money worship. I thought I would get desensitized to it as I got older but it actually disgusts me more and more and I'm beginning to see it as the root cause of the vast majority of the bullshit that is wrong with this country and, by extension, the world. I really don't give a shit if he's singling out America for it because I see it god damn everywhere I go in this country and I didn't see it nearly as bad in Japan (sorry, those are the only 2 countries I'm really familiar with). Also I am proud merkin but real patriotism = healthy criticism, imo. Also thank American Geezus that Alco is back re: money worship, see but you're not doing anything but fanning the flames by being okay with singling out america. one of the biggest reasons humanity is fucking helpless with fixing our own problems and working together is because we're so goddamn addicted to pointing fingers and name calling, whether it's at others or ourselves-- both just as bad. america will always be this big bad enemy to the rest of the world as long as people choose to view it as such. like almost all things, it's a problem of language and words, and when we fail to see that forever labeling america as the "superpower imperialist colonialist entity" / "evil empire" is just as damning as one labeling all muslims as terrorists or all native americans as alcoholics or all white christian men as misogynists and on and on and on, we forget about the bigger picture. before you say "jesus fucking christ, cry me a river, we're talking about countries here, who really holds their nation of origin as sensitively as that?"... I'll tell you who do does... backwards ignorant redneck fucks who many of you guys in this thread love to generalize america as. Because they have nothing to cling to, no identity except their guns, kfc, and middle america mindsets, and nobody to vouch for them as decent people except their little circle of merka first-ers. and ya know what fuels these people to take the wheel of our country in the form of voting for and supporting people like donald trump? sentiments like fuck merka. it's a vicious cycle. this is just an example of the power of words and generalizations. not trying to say that a post like yours is responsible for the alt right or anything, but an example to illustrate the power of words. i didn't see it myself for the longest time. hell, i was the one on this forum to lambaste obama for not saying the words "islamic extremism" on the world stage and calling it for what it is. while that's not a perfect example as i still think it is an accurate word to describe what it intends to describe, i understand and recognize that simply using a phrase like "religious extremism" in place when addressing the world, although may not satisfy the collective resolve for terror attacks and calling a spade a spade, it absolutely does just a tiny bit less to fuel the flames of jihadists around the world, and also keeps from marginalizing the already marginalized peace loving muslims around the world who want nothing to do with said phrase. So yeah, it's words, attitudes, and nuances that shape global affairs.
  20. fat greasy slobs? you must be projecting some sensitivity there because i was singular in my worship of your biscuits & gravy & you mistook humour for petulance if merkin heffers wanna keel over from that, thats their business, i didnt mention fat or slobs once chap & only in this post to impart the essentials never said you were all pieces of shit either, christ this is like conversing with my neighbour who has Alzheimers i stand by every point on the previous page vast sections of your society worship money, the entire US system is built on the notion of financial "attainment" whats the olde cultural model, feudalism, civilization & decadence? well the good ol' US skipped the civilization aspect & went directly to decadence from feudalism great, yer not a part of that, but systemically thats what remains unchecked, i saw it up close and v personal & it left me baffled as to how a nation with so much disposable income couldnt get a viable healthcare plan into action til O'bama & even then if you get cancer it can effectively bankrupt whole families US foreign policy since WWII is a record of shame, pick a continent & chances are the US military-industrial complex leveled it, then sent contractors in to be paid to rebuild, or failing that install a less than benevolent dictator is the UK clear of blame? not at all, like i said virtually everywhere a redcoat bootprint was left, everything went to shit, but your and the pebbles yourself & others brought to the table were mainly just "lol" etc, just look at Eugene's av to clarify his mindset, kinda tragic for what must be someone over 25 at least (and thats a conservative estimate) over to the herd.... ill throw lol's any day over pebbles. not looking to list off ills of the uk at the moment, i think theyre quite easy to find on a google search. your problem is here seems to lie with world superpowers and the corruption and greed of humanity. yes, america is the superpower of superpowers (though russia and china seem to be getting close to taking the torch there), but so is is the EU. Ill give it to you that your country and EU nations may *currently* - important word currently - have better conditions (re: healthcare, guns, etc) than any of the other super-powers. but the rest of your "list" (which is mostly half baked) is a poor foundation of your claim to "we're better than merka". poor because why? not because one can't even compare apples to apples like that, but because it's juvenile and pointless to do the whole "my country is better than yours". but this is light years off topic now.. my initial problem was yours and godel's kneejerk bashing of america as a country/people just moments after a massacre in our country. it's not like we dropped bombs on some country and then you posted fuck america, no you took the opportunity to kick someone when theyre down. so how do you think im gonna respond to that as someone who lives here? do you think i don't already realize how maddening gun culture is here?? are you that solipsistic to think that just because you live outside of america, you can see it "for what it truly is while we can't?", and even more absurd - that oh because you lived here for a bit that it all of the sudden makes you a cultural specialist on the states and the mindset of this nation? this is the problem with people generalizing -- whether it's nationality, race, gender, religion, orientation, etc etc -- and before you say but but world super power, okay, superpower number 3, check yourself before you get all conflict theory on superpower number 1 / 2. until we can recognize the problem of corruption and greed is one of humanity and knows no national boundaries or borders, we will be bickering and playing chess, wagging our own tales, and never getting quite at the issue.
  21. Yeah but when you talk to other forum members and reference america as ignorant fat greasy slobs, you put us in the same pool as trump supporters, alt right, and the worst of america. Forums like this are living proof (if you refuse to find other ways to demonstrate to yourself) that not all "merkans" are pieces of shit. In fact 95% of people i know here (and i even live in arizona) are compassionate, cultured, hard working people with a mostly liberal view of the world (ok maybe 90%). So you come off as a buffoon when you vomit nonsense like this. Critize our goverment, leaders, history, policies etc.. But you don't get to go off about how stupid / ignorant our entire way of life or attitude is from your glass house over there without expecting some pebbles chucked back at you. And dont bring up exceptionalism or obsession with money / greed bit unless youre prepared to tell me how giving, ego-less, and pure the ruling elite is in your neck of the woods.
  22. now now no need to get nasty, our media is the widest covering so naturally everyone just hears about it more, doesnt mean we as people think our deaths are more important than anyone elses. just like your infrastructure/govt/administration/history didnt define you as citizens and your culture is the same way our backwards as shit shouldnt either. yes, we're fat greasy americans, but there are fat greasy british ppl too :D hating on america cuz its fashionable is like a thirteen year old girl hating on her favorite emo band cuz they appeared in a hot topic ad. get over it. lives are lives. and why talk like that when innocents have died and the nation is mourning. i hate trump and mcdonalds and walmart and backwards ass hillbillys too, doesnt mean we cant have a day of mourning for the largest shooting spree in modern us history. i have friends who are still waiting to hear from loved ones and friends of friends who were shot, so fuck off. ps this was for you and godel btw, i know everyone likes to jump in on the pissing contest on who can be more howard zinn / noam chomsky when the time calls for it. maaaaan, grow the fuck up, you have no fuckin idea what a douche move it is to try n take emotional ownership over some cunt on a shooting spree yeah i bet the *insert x number of facefuck acquaintances you have are in the middle of all this i've lived in the states & personally if i'd stayed i'd DEFINITELY have procured a weapon, because Merka is uber violent.....fuck off yourself with yer douchey "only emo 13yr olds hate on fat yanks".....that says a lot more about you than it does about someone putting things in a global context US, just build that f-ing wall around your beloved country and stop bothering the rest of the world. and keep your sugary/fat/salty fastfood there as well. kthxbye it's not personal A wall would do fuck-all at keeping aircraft inside. Just sayin'. Like Lane Visitor said, no need to be a snarky prick. I'm aware of the shit that's going on in Syria, CAR, and Myanmar. But that doesn't make the topic at hand any less tragic. You never know if someone on here happens to be among the bereaved. see above mass murder like this is clearly the result of an imbalanced mind, but pick any number of location across the world, and we're all humans right, there's slaughter on an entirely larger scale occurring day in day out, but how often do you see it discussed here or anywhere else that curtains off your world from the nightmares elsewhere? if you think i'm pissing on the freshly deceased, fuck off as well, its about context, not yank baiting, you length some people here dont half like to get their precioussss on Chill out man, why are you so angry? Ill admit i was having a shit day at work and a bit disturbed about the events that had unfolded.. I just found it in poor taste to essentially yell abt how much americans suck, what youre gonna tell me britian's shit doesn't stink? Lol who do you think we inherited all our oppression, greed and ignorance from? Thats all im trying to say, Come at american culture/citizens from sweden, haiti, mexico, fine. But fucking uk? Get outta here lol your brought the hysterics to the table and they were dismissed, get over it re-Britain - what language are you typing in? i tend to take a precious Euro-snob perspective over so many "lol"s.....its lazy English & thats coming from a region which has had 1500 yrs of mistrust of our duplicitous Anglo-Saxon neighbours Britain has an imperial legacy, no doubt, but its been however many hundreds of years since you declared independence and sank our fuckin tea...and fuckin with our tea is like fuckin with our emotions, sooooo i'd sort yer own house out before casting aspersions, besides, France your oldest ally was dismissed as a bunch of fags renaming French Fries "Freedom Fries" etc, so there's a shallowness that mindless patriotism bestows on nations who supported & delivered your indepence on some bs whim More than that, as the new Rome, America clearly appropriated "The British Empire" after WWII, fact. So, you live on the city on a hill built upon generations of sorrow sown by countless failed foreign policy interventions, wars & propping up foreign dictatorships, but you still sleep soundly at night. If yer not part of the solution etc Certain aspects of American culture are backwards to say the least, thats not Euro-snob bs, its a fact: guns <---insert countless case file here education & the waste of so much talent that isnt allowed to realize its potential...who knows if you had we might've cracked the cancer nut by now your nation's comical attitude to health-care your nation's prisons & the disproportionate internment of African Americans, year in year out your nation's insipid money worship, across vast sections of society & the entitlements of ingrained narcissism supported by low costs of living and high living standards good ol' "American Exceptionalism" the rate of veteran suicides and thats just the veneered surface Britain might be a lot of things, but it aint the manifest outlined above, not by a huge margin again, hysteria gets you nowhere in life, not now, not ever if you lived with ptsd, you'd have had a similar nauseating reaction that i did to the events in LV, but America isnt the world and every day far worse events happen globally which barely get a look in within your nation's focus. Even mentioning that got your knickers in a twist, so notions of context etc. How do i know what goes on in terms of the US collective perspective of the rest of the world? Cos i spent enough time in the US to see the place for what it is. Can you say the same about Britain? Case closed. honestly, it was like reading Limpy Loo Lite, you're a grown man so you'll manage just fine when you learn how to put events into a global perspective & appreciate gallows humour for what it is and conversely for what it is not and biscuits & gravy should be exported promptly, we could take that back as the interest on all our tea you dumped, or we'll sail up the Chesapeake & Potomac & burn your Whitehouse down again like we did in 1814 LOL I'm not even rah-rahing over here -- just was annoyed by your seeming to take the opportunity to whine about coverage of the lv massacre and jump on the whole anti-american bandwagon in the midst of others' loss, especially while it was still fresh... but apparently you're the offended one... Simmer down mate. Don't worry, I'll be sure not to say a word about your country or god forbid ever compare anything to the UK from here out as I now understand just how dear and important your maniacal British fetishism is lol
