How does the World view America these days?
ambermonk replied to Rubin Farr's topic in General Banter
It's your telly/news/media. It's the kind of thing that I think is obvious to all outsiders. That's why YouTube has effectively replaced cable TV for me. In fact, I think telly is mainly a baby boomer and elder outlet now. "Reality" TV has corrupted the encouragement of rational thinking the last two decades. Cable companies wanted more views, and in turn more profit, so they wanted to "spice" things up a bit because they assumed the average American has the attention span of a mayfly (which is probably true). That's my theory anyway. -
Well, I've almost completed my full listen of NTS. I've about 20 minutes left of all end, which I assume is pretty much the same as the preceding 40. (Primarily only listen to musix in the car these days) Can't wait to start the NTS cycle all over again from the beginning. These sessions will keep me well occupied for the rest of 2018. However, I think there's new Dr. Octagon now, which I should probably check out at some point. But obviously it's been completely eclipsed by Ae this past month.

I think the meeting between KJU and Moon Jae-in is overall a step in the right direction. But at the same time, I don't think a peace treaty would necessarily mean reunification.

Making someone watch a Trump speech could be next method of CIA interrogation. Yes it's that bad.- 22,233 replies

That has to be Tokyo. It's been 16 years since we've had an official Ae music vid, and we're long due for another. Regardless, nice work.

Well, not oil rich in the fossil fuel sense. But according to data from the Cassini spacecraft mission there in 2008, there's liquid methane all over. And supposedly the rain in Titan's atmosphere is rich in hydrocarbons as well. But this article can explain it all better than I can: https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/cassini/media/cassini-20080213.html

I know - it's how I always imagined imagery from another world to look like (instead we get blurry pictures of clouds, although the landing on Titan was pretty neat: Supposedly if Titan weren't already a satellite orbiting a larger planet and were rotating around the sun independently, it would easily be classified as a planet on its own. I also heard that it could be oil-rich. But obviously I don't see us doing any mining there any time soon, certainly not directly by human hands.

Yeah but this oddly feels like a throwback to LP5 as well. Not sure which track exactly...fold 4 wrap 5 maybe? Too bad I have to abandon ship in a few minutes. Wish I could stick around for the whole thing.

Just found out I've got a -$30 balance in my bank account which appeared to have come from a website I updated my resume on about two weeks ago. I remember only paying $3 to have it updated, no more than that. So I don't know where the fuck this transaction came from, because I don't recall authorizing it.

There is something oddly sentimental about that TBH I want a mini-gonk that I can hang over my rear view mirror in the car for next X-mas

And when the two wisemen spake of the end, the folk had deemed it casual..at first. But as it turned out, all would soon become idle, once the last shimripl hath passed. Turns out the two wisemen spake true.

Reminds me of that 19-year-old from NJ who posted a video of herself going "n****r n****r n****r" late last year, and once the university she was attending got wind of it, they kicked her out. I think it was in NC. I think it was re-posted in this very thread. Forgot her name tho.
