    I played about 2 hours of Half-Life: Alyx last night after getting my new Valve Index all set up. Holy shit. I'm four months late to the party, but no matter. This VR experience is truly next level. EDIT: Continuous motion makes me dizzy though. Blink and Shift are better alternatives for people who are more susceptible to motion sickness. Might grab some ginger ale next store run though if I decide to try Continuous motion again. Heard that's supposed to help, along with a fan and open windows for fresh air. I guess there are already VR treadmills on the market too, like the Kat Walk Mini and Virtuix Omni. But I don't feel like buying any more expensive toys right now.

    Pretty sure I already have at least 240 hours of accrued annual leave, but there's really no way I can use it right now. The best part of my job is the benefits. No idea how much I have in sick leave, but I'm sure it's up there. At least it'll be less stressful come September. There's just no way I can handle another summer there.

    Voting the bastard out is my only concern this election. Boe Jiden wasn't exactly my top choice as his opponent, but it's either mediocre status quo bullshit under him, or an even worse second term under you-know-who with a potential planet-wide sabotage of biological habitation as we know it, on top of systemic genocide.

    ^^ I 'member. I think that same guy turned into some kind of feral mutant later on because of parasitic microbes and attacked the rest of the crew. Anyway, if Trump gets re-elected and he doubles down on his "domination" bullshit, then perhaps Cascadian secession should be on the table.

I reckon he's getting desperate if he's willing to take such measures. But still, these DHS shenanigans are a blatant infringement on state sovereignty. And it's sickening how many of these right-wing bootlickers there are in the comments of local news outlet YouTube channels.

    I still have a mouse infestation in my condo unit. I tried deploying a mixture of cayenne pepper and ground cloves as repellent, but I still saw one scurrying around just a half hour ago. And I can't be bothered with the traps anymore. Maybe it's time I got my first pet cat. My mom's been trying to talk me into it for years anyway, although just for companionship sake. I should probably keep quiet about the true reason I want one.
