  1. Just cooked a pack of instant Neoguri noodles for lunch, but added and egg, pre-marinated shrimp, and gochujang at the end and mixed it in. I used the cheapest possible shrimp from a 4-oz can, drained it, rinsed it, then used soy sauce, ginger powder, and sesame oil as a marinade, but also to get the stink out. As a cheap homemade meal it's great, especially when it's chilly outside.
  2. I must be a low-key dog whisperer. I got done house-sitting yesterday for a friend recently and she told me her dog (a boxer) reacted with indifference when she and her husband returned from their trip. Also, a client at work earlier this week had two Rhodesian ridgeback siblings in the back of his SUV, both of whom I petted. And when he drove off, one of them watched me with distinct sadness in her eyes, as if thinking "we were just getting to know each other." And less than an hour ago, someone was walking their Rottweiler just as I was getting home from a grocery run. And even the Rottie wagged its nub of a tail when it saw me. It's weird. Maybe dogs sense something about me that I don't, like I'm "pure" to them or something. Even among cats and children...same thing.
  3. I made an experimental onigiri and washed it down with Russian Standard. The onigiri filling consisted of sour cream and caviar, so I call it a Sakhalin onigiri. Overall it wasn't bad, but caviar is expensive as shit
  4. Finished another S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC playthrough with the Complete mod. For a game that's more than 12 years old and whose development started as far back as 2001, the atmospherics and detail to real world locale still hold up amazingly well, despite a notoriously buggy game engine. Still stands as one of my all-time faves. Might hop onto Brigador next. Supposed to be pretty good.
  5. In the words of Ken Jennings, I, for one, welcome our robot overlords. SHODAN would turn Donnie into a slobbering mutant blob (like Jabba the Hutt but feral)
  6. Who tf dumps miso on their rice? In Japan they'd get their ass whooped politely asked to gtfo
  7. Joyrex reputation count = dank af EIDT: I already f'd it up in another thread just minutes after I posted this god dammit

      I like huffing wheat toast

  10. I saw Greta wearing a (technically) MAGA hat on Instagram last night, but instead of "GREAT" it read "GRETA". But I can't find it anywhere on Google.
  11. I still demand an official disambiguation of the term "boomer". Does it mean someone born between the end of WWII thru the start of the Vietnam War? Or is it an early 30-something drinking a can of Monster Zero and playing Quake a la 2018? Or is it a cute name for an explosive?
  12. Prey 2017 is still a decent game overall, although I haven't played the original 2006 one. The Mooncrash DLC is pretty good too, if you haven't already played it. I just grabbed Brigador: Up-Armored Edition on a Steam sale for 40% off. The isometric UFO: Enemy Unknown style layout looks appealing, plus all the positive ratings were enough to convince me.
  13. Donnie already flat-out called Thunberg a Nazi. Go figure. The disheartening part is that his lies and gaslighting are still having a major influence on the populace.
  14. GOG is how I obtained Blood: Fresh Supply back in May. That and Steam are my go-to launchers on PC.
  15. Jeezus, will we ever go back to civility in politics? Trump and Giuliani are both absolute clowns. It's been said that politicians and diapers need to be changed often and for the same reason, but whoever originally said this has not considered volume as a variable for said reason.
  16. The majority of Alaskans today are so fucking ignorant and dysfunctional. More than 2 million acres of the state scorched from wildfires this past summer and they have the audacity to patronize kids calling for government action on climate change. And they voted for a Trump wannabe who promised them that fat stipend we get every October just for being residents, but ended up cutting funding for vital state services left and right in order to live up to that promise (to which he still hasn't) Likely the same type of people who I see drive like crackheads any given day. For priding themselves in "rugged individualism" they sure have a lot of loyalty to our failed abortion of a president.
  17. The older I get, the more information gets circulated online faster than I can keep up with, and the more I realize nearly all of my own comments and posts are shit.
  18. I participated in a paintball tournament for the first time, as a mandatory event for work. But I kept getting sweaty and winded from all the crouching behind cover and having my helmet visor fog up five minutes into each round. Plus it was in the woods, so I had to be careful not to trip over tree roots and crap. I was a total noob, but at least managed to get a head shot on a more experienced opponent, although I meant to hit him in the torso.
  19. Now, now...it's 14 months away. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch.
