  1. Aye and Boo seems to have shed a few lbs in recent years too..... still heaviness vibes Max Graef has produced some beauties in recent years this is bit slower too, takes a couple of mins to find itself, then eases into sublime territory with a mini-moog riff GU or Blaze would be proud of
  2. Boo Williams alongside the likes of Glenn Underground & KDJ/Theo P could fill threads of their own, incredible catalogs Grip the Home Town Chicago lp if you can, not enough on you-lube to do it justice https://www.discogs.com/Boo-Williams-Home-Town-Chicago-LP/release/24988 finding a groove is a dying art
  3. sounds like Philly soul, possibly edited the way the chops cut back every so often, googled the lyrics but computer say "nooooooo" Rahaan, say no more, bloke can mix & program like no other human, love the tune b4 it too, if you ever get the chance to see the bloke play out its a cosmic sonic mission like no other on earth
  4. Son of Saul - immense & harrowing/10 after Come And See honestly thought you couldnt get a better WWII filem, but then this came along. Worlds away from the open, sprawling plains depicted there. Loved the view-point narrowing your gaze, the sound design was incredible, that echo-laden hell of the bowels of the camp, then the pits and fires and executions. The doom sank into your bones like nothing else could. Surely 1 of the greatest films of all time.
  5. if he survives long enough to put the knives into B.Liar, post-Chilcot, then goes, i'd give him an ounce of respect
  6. you can be naive & still show leadership this is where Corbyn has failed & his timid Remain campaign, along with Cameron pledging a referendum to appease the right wing of his own party in the first place, 2 massive factors in this shit show Labour are all but done as a political force, for anything, & w/Chilcot out soon i pray justice finally catches up with B.liar the way Labour have run our own assembly govt, eg: appalling education results show why, rightly or wrongly some folks ran out of patience & voted leave to stick it to Labour a vacuum is never good
  7. you couldnt make this mess up omnishambles
  8. this has partially restored my faith in humanity.....Moondog would be proud
  9. Andrew Liles - Snuff Box: The Maleficent Monster & Other Macabre Stories https://www.discogs.com/Andrew-Liles-Snuff-Box-The-Maleficent-Monster-Other-Macabre-Stories/release/6769367 genius electronica across 3 cd's or multi-vinyl pack, the odd track overdoes the horror elements, but there are so many gems in this release of otherworldly atmospherics the quality control is staggering consistently 1 of Britain's premier sound explorers
  10. Excalibur (1981) - post-Brexit wonder of an even older Britain before the English got a foothold & ruined it. Props to John Boorman doe for blending ripping yarn with kitsch period cliches, better than i remembered it. Nicol Williamson IS Merlin (find the version of Macbeth with him in the lead too for a quality adaptation) & Helen Mirren defines edible malevolence
  11. the man is a gimp he had the entire Tory govt splitting in front of him and you need ruthless assassins to hammer the advantage in politics Cameron, Boris & Farage were all lined up to be done, but instead of Anton Chigurh the country got someone who wears a Socialist Worker hat but does fuck all with the opportunity
  12. Brexit overload no media for the next 50+hours
  13. do u over-stress when wiping? "lord when is it gonna look clean aaaagggghhhhh....." could lead to unnecessary over-cleaning and hemorrhoids bwlad, def time to skin up ffs
  14. phogot to include a small piece on Martin Hannett
  15. Andrew Liles (of solo and Nurse With Wound infamy) interviewed recently. Bloke doesnt say or put out too much on his methods/techniques/world-view, but his music is truly otherworldly. Surprised he doesnt pop up more on this site: http://www.radiopanik.org/emissions/moacrealsloa/andrew-liles-from-a-liles-current-93-nurse-with-wound-talk-music-part-1/ http://www.radiopanik.org/emissions/moacrealsloa/andrew-liles-from-a-liles-current-93-nurse-with-wound-talk-music-part-2/
  16. cheers for the Narcos recommendation folks, flew under me radar, mint so far
  17. search bump personality portraits aside, hell of a catalog its possible to listen to "If You Want To Know The Time, Ask A Policeman" & many many others on repeat for extended hours & experience some kind of temporal event/shift, an utterly immersive experience ideally find it suits remote mountain struts where there isnt another human being for miles, its adds an atmosphere to the natural world that is 50%fear/50euphoria at wavering peaks (no shrubbery), not studio sound quality replication but enough £-invested in the right mood, AM can take you to some truly sublime places that defy this gimpy attempt at description
  18. gave up booze a few years ago and not looked back with any pangs of sore headed regrets, yet as much as a pure 1-skin hits the spot (Brits and their baccy joints need serious revision btw), i find a vape or maybe 2 of some well-sourced flower power to be ideal evening accompaniments. You can make a gram last 4/5 nights and if you then feel the need to blaze 1, the weekend & certain mountain walking plots are well placed for the deeper immersion in that spectrum of chemicals. its the criminal market that underpins all kinds of wank that makes itself available & is then sold as a catch-all "cheese" variety (even though it could be 1 of hundreds of strains/combos), but if you source extensively Britain has a cracking shrubbery market in most areas. Cannabis Clubs are everywhere now too. but if its a pint you prefer then who am i to say "no, do this instead", its more the British love affair with alcohol that rubs me the wrong way these days, especially if you've seen close friends spiral into chronic alcoholism & early deaths. Truly grotesque ways to end your days. edit: but = tunes on and getting creative..... hell yeah
  19. England's Hidden Reverse points to the fact that they werent really feeling the tracks done in New Orleans @ Reznor's studio and held back putting them out plus sides were that the Black Light District & ELpH releases moved away from the styles incorporated on LSD, cos lets be honest that lp cant really be beaten for what it defines you might find the odd Danny Hyde interview here & there that touches on these considerations too, but as this pet dog aint gonna walk himself this link will have to suffice: http://thequietus.com/articles/19485-danny-hyde-coil-backwards-interview
  20. Stephen Thrower (ex-Coil) did a superb book on Franco http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/murderous-passions/
  21. In An Unspoken Voice - How The Body Releases Trauma by Peter Levine. Pros and cons to this 1, but will take all the help out there You Can't Always Get What You Want by Sam Cutler. Purchased for his personal insights into the Grateful Dead (rather than the R Stones 1st half) and the bloke writes lucidly considering the volume of drugs consumed. Crackin insights into Jerry Garcia, Owsley Bear Stanley and trying to maintain their behemoth wall of sound rig & road-crew/family. Also a man who recognized the blues basis that was missing when Pigpen passed, but thats a bit of a statto pointer for this forum. Superb if you love the early Pigpen-era Dead.
  22. mostly because i want to fuck the lead actress soooooooooooo bad Sharon Horgan is in Psychobitches too, well worth finding if you can http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2889186/ her brother does decent stand-up
