    oof. an ex of mine had night terrors. in our mid 20s we lived together for like 5 years. she would sometimes, fully asleep, act out her dreams and i was supposed to not wake her. she was studying to be a nurse. once she acted out some dream and peed in the top drawer of our dresser while reciting human anatomy in a child-like voice. something something "mandibular fossa". she pulled out the drawer, turned around and kind of propped her ass over it. it was her drawer so i didn't get upset but it was pretty weird. i guess waking someone in the middle of a night terror can be traumatic or something. i don't know. after that i told her i was going to wake her next time.

    weight loss is more about diet than exercise. exercise helps but it's all just counting calories. low carb, low sugar and you can drop weight pretty fast.. but it depends on how fat you are to start. fatter people lose weight faster at the start. so, if you're only trying to lose 10 pounds it's gonna be slow.. but if you need to lose 100 pounds then you'll probably lose the first 30 pounds really quickly. my friend lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks. he biked around a lot but mostly dieted. calorie counting apps help a lot because you see where your calories are coming from.

    have you all heard the Arrovane set from 2005? he played portland at a place called Apotheke that used to have some great shows/dj nights. the set was recorded from the board. it sounds good and is very much in a vein of AE LP5 type live set i think.. or maybe closer to 2001 live set stuff. it's really good.

    it's none of my business. it's not the government's business. it's a medical procedure and should be between patient and doctor. it should be known that the people who are anti-abortion aren't interested in pragmatism. if they were they'd support early sex ed for kids, easy access to birth control etc etc etc. they don't support these things. they aren't interested in reducing abortions.. they're interested in controlling women. abortion wasn't even really an issue until the republicans had a conference call and picked it out of a hat. wtf is 'love & light'? someone gonna sell me amway now?

    Chomsky always blows my mind. the flatness of his assertions and his take on it all.. just been doing it for his whole life. telling it like he sees it and usually that's how it is. regarding russia though... there's something there. the social media manipulation hacking voter rolls in multiple places.. but i agree chomsky puts it into scale properly. our democracy has been manipulated for so long we take it for granted and accept the big money as part of the equation. i'm glad there's people who dedicate their lives to active involvement in democracy and attempting to make the playing field level.. transparency etc. but at some point it seems like tilting at windmills. ugh. depressing. seems smarter to not pay attention accept for voting.. and then just putting your head down and making art or whatever. i wish i could tune it out and work on music. there's bad shows about aliens on tv too.

    the georgia bill has language that makes it possible to charge a woman w/murder if leaves the state for an abortion and returns to georgia. all this shit is bonkers. they're throwing up all these laws in hopes of getting one as a case in front of the supreme court.
