  1. I find this review a bit funny because it's so overly (pseudo-)academic. 30% is a historical outline of romanticism of questionably accuracy. The author obviously tries to sound smart and educated by using unusual words but doesn't really get to the point, e.g. piloerection instead of boner Sorry, I'm new here. Are you the sarcastic guy? Or do you really need a definition of piloerektion? Alright, piloerection is skin tingling. But there are many other examples in this review that make it sound like a seminar paper from a college freshman Yeah, that's the funny part. The lengthy descibing of l3 ctrl as a space map is even more "forced" - but funny. And he does that with respect to the music, so it's cool for me. Yeah, I appreciate his effort and passion. But..- yeah

  4. In the RA review it says Releases: April 2018 Style: Autechre pretty accurate as it's unlike any other music and forms its own genre. Nice review
  5. I love these scetches and paintings Well done you people
  6. What is the point you are trying to make if there is any? That memory is flawed? That everything is a hallucination? Or are you just continuing this thread for the purpose of having made an odd thread? What are you on about man I think this "Be the Light that radiates unconditional Love and have Fun:)" part comes across a bit cheesy and could cause people to think worse of you, not that you cared obviously Be the Light that radiates unconditional Love and have Fun:)
  7. Last 2/3rds of Krems is alright, no?
  8. Regarding NTS as possibly being an introduction to Ae : yesterday a friend of mine asked me what kind of music Autechre did. I gave her a listen of Bike and then said that they evolved a lot and put tt1pd. Well she wrote down the name of the track and I was quite surprised that she could enjoy it so immediately (she isn't into IDM at all btw) I never got the notion that Autechre is more easily accessible with their older tracks. I think there are many entrance points throughout their whole discography that vary individually from person to person according to taste. Their newer stuff is more varied and weird, some people might prefer this over their simpler older stuff even at the first listen.
  9. I'm sure it is hard if not barely possible to simulate the distortions of real polaroid film with Lightroom or Photoshop exactly as they are, but I'm think there is a lot you can do to achieve effects that are at least similar. But that is some work plus the tools you use to create your images influence the creative process. You wouldn't take the same pictures with a DSLR that you would take with a Polaroid camera just because of the different ways of usage, different speed, different handling etc. I'm really interested in trying that. But what I imagine being even more fun is doing analogue photos and messing with the film in the darkroom during the development process, sprinkle salt on it, dodge and burn it in weird ways, etc. Fortunately we are blessed with digital photography and software, tho
  10. Nice, never shot with polaroid, must be fun and I like square format a lot. It's lichen

    elseq 1-5

I like the elseqs even more in the context of the NTS sessions. I love that direction Autechre is going for
  12. Yes, it is lurking delicious ass punching in ur face with delicious fattiness in the end. I appreciate this
  13. @Hk47 I will spank your little male manga loving arse until it is all pink and raw to retain discipline (if necessary)
  14. Translation work is not the topic to be discussed here. Follow the rules. I demand a little more discipline.
  15. Yes, I'm listening to it again now and it is pretty busy and an amzing background noise with many almost unoticable micro rhythms and changes in texture. It's good that this track exists
  16. a friend suffers from some lung disease and it sounds like some wicked granular synthesis: https://vocaroo.com/media_command.php?media=s0xDoq1bG3YO&command=download_mp3
  17. to me the only depressing thing about it is that it's probably the least inspired thing they ever released. ever. (sorry, luv u ae :( ) Melve tho? i fucking adore melve and the whole of lp5. it is one if not the fav of mine. the very least you can say about melve, even if you don't dig it, is that it was fresh (as in: not sampled from another track) and it has more than 1 notes (yeah a chord is technically more than one note, bite me). While I wouldn't say that all end has any particular musical variety, there's certainly more than just the one chord. All throughout the track you have a slow, deep, rumbling bassline and higher treble melodies that fizzle in and out of existence right at the fringe of the track. It's certainly more than just one chord, although granted it's not much more than that. yeah there sure are some intricacies to it and i do get the idea behind minimalism. actually i enjoyed pretty much all their tracks with a rather minimalistic approach so far like perlence subrange, eastre, TBM... fuck pendulu casual is maybe my fav track off elseq. this one... yeah it's not even a bad ambient track in itself. nothing particularly special but it sure does have impact and well... it's a nice chord lol. obviously it features some interesting emotional ambiguity. but: it's still literally just the ending of an older track stretched out period. i have a hard time getting over that fact i don't feel very good about it myself but yeah, that's just how it is atm. the hv moda reprise on 1 at least had a new twist to it and it wasn't a freaking hour long. it's just disappointing as an "end all" to me. if this was academia i guess there could be points made about them deconstructing themselves as bladelores was some kinda emo hit off exia etc. ... but yeah whatevs. hearing 4 from beginning with cans. frane is pretty fucking cool. But now imagine yourself hearing these whole 8 hrs as one chunk. And now imagine it's only 7 hrs, only that the last chord of the last bit of the last hour is stretched over another hour. I think that's pretty cool Tracks 1 & 2 seem quiet, but 3-5 all hit 0db Yes, it hits 0db but only rarely, even the louder parts are relatively quiet but in the end this isn't a real issue. Maybe their reasons will unfold for me in the future
