  1. I remember he did some pretty sweet MS-20 ambient work a few years ago. Pretty nice cover and massive undertaking. I wonder how much of the original track was analog, it's obviously got some digital trickery in there. No, those are analogue breakbeats.
  2. The bus scene was pretty humorous. How does F/X get to use "fuck" without censoring. That was a lot of "fucks". Things are starting to set up nicely. Thewlis is doing some nice work. Though, the chick who got whooped up at the end seemed like a cop-out. Thought she would have been more fucked up. I remember in Mr Robot, they would censor every mention of the word fuck, but would leave cunt out there in the open.
  3. Oh my fucking lol the bird getting sucked in
  4. Started watching The Arrival, and the opening title credit just appeared, and already the first massive lol of the film - character with a fucking massive telephoto lens, taking photos of a landscape area that's pretty small. *photographerlol* Another favourite lol is the Gordon Freeman goatee. "They're waiting for you Gordon... In the test chamberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"
  5. I hate the way he gesticulates when he talks.
  6. very impressive, fluid camerawork. is there some kind of fancy stabilization involved in the recent flagship phones? That is horrendous 'fake' (as opposed to optical) image stabilisation.
  7. I would imagine the cluster fuck that is RSD would be contributing to delays...
  8. Yeah I think it'll happen, seems to be a good pattern to stick to. Means people can reasonably get hold of the stuff they're missing.
  9. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to shit on vinyl collectors but why would you prefer the vinyl if you could get the CD with perfectly clean sound if that's what you're after? I really can't wrap my head around it. Again, I'm not trying to be mean. Someone just please explain this to me once and for all. Maybe I'm just dumb or something, I don't know what I'm missing. I never said I wanted 'perfectly clean sound', and the second file shows that the sound isn't 'perfectly clean' I was pointing out that the original limited silver pressing, as with most of Warp's early coloured vinyl, sounds disproportionately terrible compared to pretty much any other vinyl pressings out there. edit: it's almost as if you've heard the first file, and assumed that's how vinyl sounds under usual and normal circumstances, which is not the case. No, I get what you were saying. I'm just wondering why go for vinyl at all when there's better sounding alternatives. Surely you'd want the option with the least amount of noise on it right? At least that seems to be why you're comparing both pressings. No, I'm comparing the pressings to highlight how terrible the early Warp coloured pressings are. This is the third time I've said this now. As for the separate discussion on why listen to vinyl in the first place, there are many discussions about this topic on the internet. This thread isn't really the place for this discussion because it very quickly devolves into fallacies and pretentiousness that detracts from this thread. Not sure why you're bringing up the topic unless you want to troll.

  12. Likely because you're confusing dynamic range (the range of dynamics - i.e. loud sections vs quiet sections) with something else?
  13. da fuk - a "dynamic range database"? Genuinely curious - is there any science behind their ratings, or is it just "this sounds poor to me" or "this sounds good to me"? I guess for the music noob I am, can dynamic range be measured accurately to generate a score? Yes there is. Click on the image, and then click on the album of your choice. The dynamic range is calculated based on....the dynamic range of the music.
  14. Syro's dynamic range (digital copy) is pretty poor. In fact, out of all the releases tested there, it's the lowest scoring.
  15. I'm unable to wait for the blue-ray I don't own a Playstation Sling and DirectTV are US only So I'm left with double subscriptions and torrents But I want to support Lynch not two corporations in-between How about if I wire him some cash, you think that will work? :) Just buy a load of coffee from his online shop and torrent it.
  16. So since my audio interface is working again after the Windows update, I thought I'd record a couple of snippets so you can hear the night and day difference between the limited edition silver pressing of Incunabula from 1993, and the 2016 reissue. Kalpol Introl excerpt - silver pressing 1993 Kalpol Introl excerpt - reissue 2016 I think this mostly highlights just how fucking horrendous the early Warp coloured pressings were. I don't have the original black vinyl pressing, but I've heard that it's no-where near as bad.
  17. Holy fuck this. Sweaty Charlie Sheen/10 omg lol the look on his face
  18. I can't wait for them to innovate on new ways for credit card info to be stolen from their systems!
