You're not wrong, and you of course know way, way more about this than I do, but if you're at the level where you're asking WATMM for advice on affordable monitors for your hobby, something cheap will probably be fine for the foreseeable future. I have a pair of JBL 3's. They're not great, but if my music sucks that is not because the monitors are causing doubt and guessing.

Which is the standard Israeli tactic: don't seem like a lunatic. Palestinians run around screaming, waving around their dead babies to the world but Israeli's are different. They're like us, they're Westerners so whatever it is they're doing must be reasonable. Bombing a prison camp, which is what Gaza basically is, is not cool. Even if it's spewing home made rockets it's just a really, really shitty thing to do.

Dunno, his argument seemed rather weak to me. “It’s not our fault if we are stronger”. Well, no, but that does mean you have to be extra careful. “Hamas does not play fair”. Well, no, but that doesn’t mean you have to stoop to their level. And … that was it. Not a great performance.

Nothing experimental about this vaccine. It's 1970s science stuck on some 2010 tech. Very much tried and tested. And don't get me started on those adenovirus vaccines. That's positively old school.

Not sure if these societies are winning, however. As far as COVID-19 is concerned these societies aren't doing so great (here I'm not counting China as a winner-take-all society, btw, as despite it being controlled by a strongman it very much takes collective action).

Wow ... two Indian cities on #1 and #2. Didn't expect that. London on the list is not surprising (pretty sure the UK was the worldwide #1 before China overtook them. Like you say: legacy knowledge). I'd say so too. Everything that is possible, usually ends up being done. Pretty sure that whatever it is China is doing will be the future for the rest of the world as well, for better or for worse. Hopefully. You're right a lot of the data collected is useless. All those CCTV camera's haven't stopped a single lone wolf terrorist attack, school shooting or storming of the centre of government. At the same time, things might get very nasty for you if you end up on the wrong end of a government shit list and they decide to use all that surveillance against you. The people in Xinjiang know everything about that.

Check this old Stinson interview: Not a call to race war, to be sure, but when he says "all he did was step in with his money and his Caucasian Persuasion" that does not sound like "Drexciya's music was never supposed to be associated with race or a race war" either.

Many Orthodox Jews detest the state of Israel. They see the Zionist project as getting ahead of the work of the Lord (on the other hand, moving to Jerusalem is fine ). So it's not really surprising. Not only that, but this particular outbreak of violence is a shameless bout of wagging the dog, with Netanyahu stirring up the flames to avoid losing political power as that would mean he'd have to go to jail. Really disgusting.
