It's retaliation from the Chinese - Canada arrested the CFO of Huawei for extradition to the US (they claim Huawei is violating sanctions on Iran) and so China retaliated by taking into custody a former diplomat and my friend. holy f*, so basically he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time... this is oddly like the Bridge of Spies scenario....

Yesterday I had workers dig up the canal for optic cable to my house and one part of the canal is going up the bluff above the road to my back yard. The bluff is rocky and steep and the guy with an excavator did a very patchy work solidifying it back up once the cable was laid. I protested that they need to pour some concrete over it so that the rain erosion doesn't wash off the gravel on the road. He was angry about it at first because petty reasons, then, after some talking, agreed to bring up some concrete today. I was reciprocal enough to offer to buy a metal mesh for structure which I did, and, of course, this guy never showed up today. So in modern times, a man's word is worth nothing. Really disappointed.

What's with the sound effects of modern shooter games like COD or Battlefield? The explosions sound like dropping wooden sticks covered in plastic or something. Do the sound designers compress them into singularity or what?

yeah graphics and animations are clunky af, but there is a certain charm...or maybe i'm just biased from the day i first started to appreciate DE. I mean I'm more than willing to look the other way, considering how everything else just falls into place. I've seen one too many games with nice graphics and... yeah, just nice graphics... that's your take on the graphics? electronic old men?

This mod for Deus Ex. just began the Vandenberg AF base mission. This mod is a wholesome gift to an old hardcore fan of Deus Ex like me. The AI is noticeably better, bugs are gone, levels have more life to them, new sounds, weapons now really feel as they should, augmentations and skills revamped, and much, much, much better. Some dialogues are a bit different, more meaningful, fixed voice intonations, etc. So if you ever wondered how to make a perfect game more perfect, play this mod. It's a joy. This was made with love and I appreciate it.

^ yes, ethiopian musicians have the real funk. I've been discovering this sound for several years now and its trully amazing. A true escape from the west for me, with all the familiar elements I love. Great video!
