Sometimes I come across a certain sub-type of a dog owner that makes me think they actually need a dog as some sort of psychological compensation, like having a completely obedient follower, just for the sake of pumping up their ego. It's something off in their behavior to their dogs that just isn't that sincere... I don't know why. Like they are some sort of controlling freaks to other people as well.

Dammit Joe Rogan, you're such a slow hunk. Such a potential for an interview... it was fun though

Not as much a stupid FWP as a hard-to-deal with FWP: As I get older and meet new and interesting people, I began to realize there are fun and interesting professions that I had no knowledge of when I was a kid. Or I maybe even thought some of those professions were not as interesting to me then as they are now. I like to think of myself as an active, outdoor person, I always was, and yet I chose this stupid graphic design that locks me in front of a computer, sometimes as much as 12 hours a day, not to mention the senseless grind through marketing world that never interested me in the slightest, the kind of contribution to society which I now hate with passion. So yesterday, I met a paleoanthropologist who travels around Europe, crawling about in caves, researching ancient cave paintings and murals, deciphering their meanings, publishing papers, etc. The light of enthusiasm and innocent, yet far reaching curiosity emanated from her in such a way that I fell in love with her and her work on the spot. It's a complicated feeling of being on the wrong track in life, thinking if it is sensible for me to drop my 15 years of practice and just switch to something else - a journey that began in my head several years ago and I still haven't found what exactly is worth pursuing as everything is so interesting and fascinating.

But the interesting thing is that we're in a time where these terms are transcending high school times and extending into the lives of anyone who uses facebook or posts on forums like this one. Of any age. Those terms are taking on this bizarro cultural significance that the random slang of my school days didn't. The future is thicc af. sure, they are more present everywhere, but they will get 'obsolete' relatively quick anyway.
-
I wouldn't say that words like 'thicc', etc. are exactly evolution of language. it has more to do with the medium through which the english language entered a more omnipresent state. I clearly remember when I was in high school (about 15 years ago) and playing with language in this manner is what we did constantly. We also made memes of some sort. But it never entered the 'ether' of presence as it was merely an adolescent thing, confined to notebooks and school furniture, and the interest for it kind of evaporated once we got more older. This sort of slang, i'd say, lives in high school times, and apart from the will to be up to date and cool with the adolescents and understand them, such words will have a much less appreciation in the 'grown-up world'. But sure, some words stick, and the next generation always comes with a couple of new phrases that define them.

probably the entertainer by scott joplin, i play his stuff on piano omg it was too! Nice one Yek. Plot twist: yek was the truck driver. I wonder how much in revenue terms would an Ae blasting ice cream truck make. And now that I have this vision of yek yekkin sportglasses and a northface jacket imprinted in my head, looking all shady in a quiet neighborhood, this simply has to be attempted and repoted back in a trully WATMM After Action Report. So Sean comes up and rigs the ice cream truck with an MSP-driven ice cream spoon automaton that would sample the truck's melody and mix the flavors accordingly.

A bit of nostalgia... listening to this in high school when it was released, we would exchange CDs with all kinds of 'obscure' IDM (for us at that time), talk about old-loved or newly discovered music and how it was made while puffing on a spliff behind the corner. Listen this shit on your own or borrowed Discman (!) in class because you couldn't wait until home. The wonder these new sounds made to me was genuine, not only because it was something I never heard before, but also because the sounds themselves carried me over in some fantasy land. We were all like that; nerds, consumed by strange sounds (pot only made it worse lol) in an endless quest for more of that which no one else of your mates yet heard, so that you could be the 'first that discovered that'... just a silly bloke thing on top of genuine interest which some followed until today and it's a good thing. So makesnd cassette is one of those unexpected awes, much in tune with the spirit of times, intertwined with youth dreams and exploration. Looking back, I am happy to realize that lived to experience in late 90s and early 2000s, the formation of Sound of Ljubljana, a certain flavor of minimal, dub and detroit techno that ran across the spectrum but still had that sound characteristic of the city - our jungle we explored with our funny attires and argot. This album is one of those that are instant time machines into that beautiful time.
