  1. yes one possibility, or more likely that In my attempt to break up the set into 11 different 'tracks' or mastering chains i messed up the timing edit: in case it wasn't clear, i wasn't implying the soundboard was somehow not the same performance as the show, it obviously is. It's hard to believe how satisfying that Krakow remaster was to me until I heard the 'real' thing, goddam
  2. yeah i encountered the same thing, the soundboard does not sync up the whole time, only parts of it do. That implies (obviously) the soundboard had some editing done to it before it was released edit: not necessarily, check my later post below
  3. thats a fun story, i ended up djing 'tracks' from all 4 of the soundboards on a bad ass rig. In fact the sound system I played the SB on sounded about 2 x as good as the actual sound at the Mezzanine in SF. extremely satisfying experience, people who were there to listen to techno were digging it a lot to my surprise
  4. No blatant phase issues? Going to be a bit phasey, but mixed well it probably won't be a massive problem - I'd start with EQing out the low end from those audience recordings anyway, so that'll minimise problems. I thought the same after totally digging what I heard today, but wanting some reaction to join in with :P are you going to take a stab at it? I was just going to through in my Krakow remaster + the soundboard as the starting point. I actually kind find my '7 different chains' flac or mp3, if anyone saved it please let me know. All I have is Amni's remaster doesnt the krakow soundboard have an extra few minutes at the beginning compared to the audience recordings? that would ruin any combination for my delicate sensibilities. the set is one big composition. Yeah the krakow audience recording I have starts a minute or two into the actual soundboard its cool, my ocd isn't bad enough for me not to go through with the idea i still think it would sound great minus a couple minutes at the front

  6. just a thought, since we have a very goddam good audience recording of Krakow, someone could easily give the Krakow Soundboard the 'Brian Albers treatment' meaning doing a very good sounding mixture of audience recording & Soundboard. Might not be everybodys cup of tea but i think its worth a try, especially since its probably one that everybody has rinsed the most already making it the least exciting of the 4
  7. i like how didn't try to come up with anything fancy or pretentious to explain the vocals, he's just like I used Plogue speech mother fucker. Other insecure musicians would have posted a youtube video of them doing it on a kyma for no reason (and smarter musicians would have seen the video and thought 'what the fuck this is phony as fuck what are you doing tobin')
  8. ok so time to bring up the watmm classic: how does the waveform look. well i haven't looked it, i'm using my ears on this one. i am still curious - if they use different mastering chains for different sections/songs of the set - how they ended up mastering an entire live set with such dynamic sound differences happening throughout to sound this fucking good - what made them throw their dicks down on the table so hard to give us such a beautiful gift
  9. Hanal just made a Fear Ratio shirt for Skam, i suggested to him how badass it would be for him to do a new Autechre shirt in the same style, he agreed
  10. wow, that would be amazing if they pulled something off that cheap. Reminds me of that soap opera from the 80s where a bomb blew everyone up and the episode after showed it was actually all a dream
  11. someone was binge watching season 2 with me and seemed fully on board until we got to this episode screenshot taken from episode 206 :
  12. I like the cut of Jev's jib. Watmm needs a lot more shit-talking, and not just 'you suck' but absolutely blistering takedowns. As long as the people delivering them aren't shills for Israel or similarly on the wrong side of history, I approve
  13. the Talking Dead was hilarious last night. Seeing people getting all upset and tearing up at a show that has long jumped the shark was a very odd experience.
  14. really strange, I posted a very longwinded thing in here (again) and the post is completely gone. does anyone remember seeing it?
  15. has he posted any tracks from after like 2000 yet? he said he spends hours and tons of money pouring through Beatport buying new music, but I didn't see any yet in those recommendations
  16. Nathan For You Season 3 just started, it's amazing as expected. The tiny door/alligator/Best Buy episode was so complex and it just kept going
  17. don't blame Rubin, it's possible he might live in LA where you see virtually no naturally aging people
  18. anymore? i dont know what uchoob is (is that delet slang for youtube?)
  19. Hot Rod was so great. Everyone hated it so much but damn was it great. i actually dug hot rod, i thought it was probably the funniest thing he's ever acted in outside of SNL
  20. Kevin Smith admitted that he went for a long period of his life sober and only after he became really successful and comfortably rich did he start being a stoner. I think this helps explain in part why he has such a horrible metric in judging the quality of movies and stuff. You can tell from his 'smodcast' when he says shit like 'I'm about to choke up just saying this one line in Spiderman 2' that he ate probably a super strong bot brownie and that solidified his memory of the movie, not his clear sober reasoning abilities. Basically what I'm saying is Kevin Smith is a light-weight and it makes him have bad judgement. Probably smoked a hash-oil dipped pre-rolled joint before watching the last Walking Dead
  21. i tried watching Tree of Life but as soon as the kid 'grows up' and Sean Penn is walking around in the painted dessert, things started to get super fucking cheesy art-fag to the point where I almost felt like I was watching a mid-90s Enigma chillout video on MTV. Parts of it were definitely good.
  22. yeah thats fucking great, its kind of like the perfect blending of harsh EBM aesthetic and techno, are those vocals sampled or original? either way good stuff
  23. yes it is, not to mention it just being not that fantastic of an idea (no offense to who did it) I don't mind any of the concepts to any of vaporwave actually, but it does bug me to see so many people trying so hard to copy a very specific aesthetic rather than trying to sort of represent their own memories or own nostalgia and creating something unique from that. I just keep hearing the same style shit over and over again if people were treating the 'genre' the same way AE described electro/hiphop in recent interviews I'd be really excited about it. Basically people need to take an AE approach to vaporwave is really what im saying, and not a Girl Talk approach
