  1. i advocate for this (you having sex with goiter)
  2. if you can through season 1 and 2 without finding it too off-putting low budget and cheesy, it really gets into a nice groove in season 3 and doesn't really stop till the end of season 7. In season 3 they start really nailing the dark atmosphere of the show, doing black and white flashback episodes, badass music from mark snow and just good shit in general.
  3. did you guys already see the comment RDJ left on Richard Devine's page making a joke about his hypdrophone field recordings sounding like explosive diarrhea?
  4. it seems already kind of like an early 00's form of anachronistic comedy. Like what happens if a college aged Christian youth group comedy troupe was willing to swear, talk sexy and then also talk like black guys. the result is the Lonely Island. Jimmy Fallon totally embodies the worst aspect of early 00's Christian Youth group vibe comedy tho, so it could be a lot more tragic
  5. i disagree, its hard for me not to imagine Gary Oldman as a Rastafarian yelling 'it's white boy day' while hearing his beats. Its literally the most cracker tribal anything i've ever heard in my life
  6. sounds alright, he's really going balls to the wall with that karplus strong module i would have passed on the Mysteron purchase, but then again it's not my modular, looks like he's doubling up the Karplus vibe with a Braids as well. its kinda interesting to see the very first iteration of physical modeling synthesis (karplus strong) making its first real appearance in music. Its been around for I think 30 or so years, but it was never really appreciated enough to be used in much recorded music at all for that entire time. Now that the eurorack market (and other things like the Op1) have a few different options, im starting to hear the sound in a decent amount of electronic music.
  7. the only thing I dont like about it is that certain Max4live devices inexplicably do not save parameters upon saving and re-opening. Also it has the tendency to be a bit unstable (a tad more than running multiple Reaktor instances) other than that its fucking great, totally changed the way I make music
  8. ok now we're talking, go back to like page 3 of this thread to see how my dream come true would be a buddy movie of Hulk and Thor, seriously
  9. definitely interested in picking up Wrong Eye, the Snow and Windowpane the one I'm holding out for the most though is the unreleased stuff from Black Light District / Worship the Glitch, which if i remember correctly Whitney said he had at least one entire LP worth of unreleased material from both those sessions. I hope im not conjuring a false memory, because for me thats the golden age of Coil. Loves Secret Domain/Stolen and Contaminated comes next of course
  10. awesome, the plan worked. Good thing you slipped some weird ass meta data in there, can't wait for RDJ to get freaked out when he figures it out (did you still go with the original idea of encoding beastiality porn in them or was it that... other thing we talked about? it might not be legal where he lives fyi)
  11. that thought actually crossed my mind, if this is a fake album its one of his best so good job on him if its true
  12. man what a clusterfuck. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that Jon Whitney doesn't have much support in this endeavor, not just because of the questionable ownernship of the rights but because of his ego for the past few years. As soon as Sasha Gray started liking coil and promoting Brainwashed.com it got even worse.
  13. did you watch the first episodE? who else noticed all the crazy homages to other coen movies besides Fargo, i counted at least 5 (man who wasn't there, big lebowski, blood simple, o' brother, a serious man)
  14. seems kind of weird they wouldn't be more transparent about that on the 'press release' for this (if you could even call it that). Im ok with no marketing money being spent on promoting these, but just slapping them up on the site with no art? super half-assed to say the least. Eager of course to hear any of the previously unreleased material people are already confused (4 hours and i guess no one thought an answer to this question was necessary)
  15. yeah that was a really strong start for season 2. They were riffing on so many different Coen brothers movie this time too. They had an obvious nod to Donnie interrupting in the bowling alley (from Lebowski) during the bingo scene (instead of a Vietnam vet, the gruff of the 3 is an 80s conspiracy theorist). They also outro'd the show with a song from O' brother. PRetty weird they're playing with all those obvious nods but somehow it works. Also liked the Culkin kid playing the Buscemi dumb bad guy role
  16. i wonder what aphex will do once his warp contract expires, i'd like to think he'd take a different approach and start releasing music on smaller labels and not release on warp again.
  17. looking forward to it. Anyone remember that fake character David Cross used to do on very early Colbert Report episodes? Before Colbert turned into a character-breaking Obama praiser David Cross would basically be playing a parody of a generic liberal guy and I can't find any video now but it was hilarious.
  18. you'll find a lot of ultra shitty movies sort of 'snuck in' through the door when marijuana started to become really mainstream in the US. These also include the Harold & Kumar trilogy(?) <-- try watching that now and tell me it isn't truly horrible (youll have a hard time ) one of my favorites that didn't get the same level of accolades is an early american 2nd gen stoner comedy called How High, where several members from the Wu-tang clan smoke the ground up body of one of our founding fathers, its pretty great
  19. hilarious use of cgi on tv show, like a $1000 prosumer plugin version of WETA's massive
  20. man cut hands kills me, you would think someone with such a long avant-garde/noise career under his belt wouldn't produce something that sounds literally like the first time you've programmed a drum machine or sampled. unbelievable. (other stuff you posted is nice tho). incredibly weirded out by the popularity of his music
  21. links or mentions? fun fact: Vonnegut was a truther
  22. you've probably already met a lot of people like this, and why don't you just use your own judgement instead of being so reactionary about what truthers believe? If you don't think the fact that Bush administration wanted zero investigation of 9/11 is suspicious, that's your prerogative.
  23. i agree that WTC7 is a jarring image to get one to start thinking but I see it more like throwing someone into the 15 foot deep end of a pool. my personal preference is to start by showing people stuff like this : there is really nothing someone could say to dispute or argue against this, but with WTC7 you'll find a lot of 'rational skeptic' type phonies will just go to some kind of 9/11 debunking website and have a 'WTC7 was damaged by debris so it fell' talking point to regurgitate. The other video however the same type of 'rational skeptic' phony would hit a wall and not really know how to answer and probably look like an absolute baby if trying to form their own argument about how its invalid (rational skeptics just like truthers desperately try to cling onto their own conclusion about the events) of course to an anti-truther that unfortunately means they've put themselves into the 'everything that happened on 9/11 was above board camp' which is a very bad camp to be in in terms of critical thinking and not looking like a totally dumb naive asshole.
  24. a bit inaccurate, San Francisco has actually turned into quite the high income town in the past few years. Last time i was in LA i would argue their homeless person is faaar worse
