  1. do yourself a favor and check out 'Pom Poko', (if you haven't already) it's not a Miyazaki, but it is Studio Ghibli powerful powerful film, changed my life...or at least it had a vast impact on me I just finished watching this, but I have to say, it was a bit disappointing. Sure it was funny, but I feel like the message was better told in Princess Mononoke, it wasn't so ham-fisted. Now watching Nausicaa. Raccoons with their balls out FTW

    TWIN PEAKS

First season is nearly flawless. Second season as a whole just seems jumbled, disjointed and kind of rushed. I suppose it's no wonder though with all the guest directors and Lynch's absence. As I recall there are several of the storylines occuring in the second season that are a bit iffy. Like James' travels to that posh mansion story was just utterly boring and pointless. The Harold storyline was alright as it threatened to reveal something staggering in regards to Laura's secrets. Also the whole Windom Earle thing was just way too run-of-mill villain and seemed like a big rush job. Though his back story connections with Coop and his links with these mysterious Dugpas was quite intriguing, but that didn't really go anywhere either.

  9. Life's Too Short + new season of An Idiot Abroad brilliant stuff
  10. Really enjoying the nodezsh/runrepik/spl9 sequence! nodezsh & spl9 is classic autechre, refined down but aint lost its spikiness runrepik is kind of a new sound for autechre. The beats have plenty of humour and I like the progressively wonky placings they have. The backdrop of weird atmospherics is great, would like to hear a longer version of this/more of this. spl9 is really the old autechre shining through! Plenty going on, and everything placed perfectly husting and bustling your mind into warm perfection. cloudline comes in perfectly on the horizon after this monster of a tune.
  11. I've only been listening on headphones so far, and yes nodezsh is fucking great! Gonna give it some speaker play time this weekend firing out into the back yard. Bonfire and all, proper inauguration of the exai will be had.
  12. Yeah nodezsh is a funny, weird domain. It's the same old funky recurring twilight world of ae, traversin the tunnels of your mind and whacking about with iron bats
  13. It's the aeffect. like standing in a doorway pressing your arms against the sides, then stepping back and noticing how your arms levitate by their own accord.
  14. standouts from CD1 have been Fleure, irlite, Flep and bladelores could be a combination of flu but Fleure is giving me a lovely physical buzzing sensation just behind my temples, like there's a cat inside my head gently tickling my temples from the inside with its paws
  15. i love the ending of YJY UX! that last little blip at the end always gets me. It's like they consciously decided to make it end with a smirk and wink. i consider kiosk to be the actual ending though... a very nice afterglow/cooling off song. YJY UX I see as exotic/mysterious nocturne but at the same time very uplifting tune cause it opens spiritual paths in my mind and i like that state of being more than any other. The ending of Sublimit is letting me to stay in that state...a very nice aftertaste. F# with the winks in the wrong place! The very ending is the most important moment of any album. Yes, of course that the winky ending could be intentional but what good it brings? For me the end could easily be better if they wasn't inert at least with its melodic nature like they was. Easily?! How? If the last min or the very end took sudden turn into something even more uplifting or into a lowest melodic common denominator - something like the background melody at 3:11... and all that while in fade out, or without it...and we can smirk and wink afterwards all day. Yes, i know! It's their music and they can do with it what ever they want but if we're talking about it let me be weird for a moment. I have rights too and one of my rights is to be a weirdo. IMO, to be able to compose such melodies one has to be able 'see' hidden world...and that's the rarest thing. What do i mean by 'hidden world'? Not the easiest term to explain for a non-native English speaker but the easiest for me is to compare it to the world of Schopenhauer's ideas or even Junglian God's world. I hear in their music they're able to 'see' it and that is the main and the most important capacity that differentiate Autechre from others artists IMO. So with the wink after such a precious divine moment that the track invokes i see it as they ridiculing themselves with it and all this in the intend to be cool or macho...cause they're afraid of cheesiness or something? WTF? Are they teenagers?! F# coitus reservatus! i like you xox
  16. Exai is brought to you by RECKSON. A division of Soilent Green Realty Corporation. In connection with REXON recking tools.
  17. yeah what's up with people even including Exai on lists so soon? Chew your Exai thoroughly and swallow slowly, otherwise you're prone to choke on those beats!
  18. Office Space seen this so many times over the years and i never tire of it. Great stuff.
