  1. ^ probably lots of spare time, personal trainer, dietist, coaches etc. and a good dose of determination & vanity. He's an OK actor whos strong sides include an all American air of cool handsomeness and being an expert at expanding and contracting his physical body on demand.
  2. listened to this again yesterday. prac-f, bladelores, 1 1 is and YJY UX really stood out. prac-f was one of my initial favourites and has only improved with time. even enjoyed spl9 more than usual, though it's still prob my least listened to of Exai (along with deco loc)
  3. It's ageing well, getting more playtime than last year
  4. Under The Skin seems really interesting, gotta stop trying to watch it after a long day though, made it to the underwater like scene last night after dozing off. It does produce very serene sleep though.
  5. Edge Of Tomorrow does look pretty good actually Watched Into The Night http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089346/ yesterday. Jeff Goldblum is a dreamboat.
  6. Early Autechre stuff is great, but it only really comes properly ALIVE later on! I find there's a kind of Frankenstein logic to Autechre's catalogue, in that the earilier albums (generally up to Tri Repetae, but probably including CichliSuite, Envane & LP5) are Sean & Rob pottering about their lab a bit at their own pace, easy going early days and all that, creating this monster (Franken'techre). Then you have their later stuff (esp. Chiastic Slide, Confield, Draft 7.30, Untilted, Quaristice, Exai, L-Event) which sound more like this created monster has gotten a life of its own and is lashing and flailing, constantly trying to break free of its creators constraints. Though we get to catch glimpses of wailing insanity and the inner gnarliness on St Epreo, Oversteps sees Franken'techre generally heavily sedated, drooling, hallucinating happily about twinkling ice planets and serene stars. Early Autechre = Rob & Sean creating the beast Later Autechre = Rob & Sean (attempting to) constrain the beast
  7. Been listening to Makato Kawabata - infinite love on my early morning pre breakfast bike rides this last week, dreambiking. also: Makato Kawabata - psychedelic noise freak Arovane - tides FSOL - environments II Autechre - confield BoC - tomorrow's harvest

    Now Reading

PKD - The Father Thing Volume 3 of the collected short stories. Packed full of imagination, ideas just flying everywhere and coming alive in your mind. Wonderful stuff.
  9. Reallly enjoyed Absentia by the same director, a great little suspense/horror gem. Think I will watch Oculus tonight.
  10. fol3 really snaps the album into two parts

    Autechre - SYptixed

syptixed sounds a bit like someone pronouncing 'subtext' in a thick scandinavian accent

    Autechre - SYptixed

Downloaded this yesterday in mp3 format from Bleep. Enjoyed the Gas track then skipped directly to SYptixed. Lovely track, plays a bit like a strange mix of maphive 6.1, zeiss contarex and YJY UX. Surprisingly mellow after the relative chaos of Exai/L Event.
  15. really enjoying the of prac-f/jatavee C/T ess xi section. The most old ae style esque sounding of the album I think. Also tuinorizn, bladelores and recks on are getting alot of playtime.
  16. haha. Great mental image given :D keep up the good work, people who don't know autechre having autechre put at them are funny to experience/hear about. teeheee, tickle tickle, teheee.
  17. lol, how far into the album did you get before this Quaristice family meeting dispersed?
