Bogdan Raczynski - Debt EP (Unknown to the Unknown)
skotosa replied to Rubin Farr's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I live in Houston and would gladly go see Bogdan Raczynski the place up. I can't find more info though. -
The wait is becoming unbearable. I feel like I'm in a desert with no water.

I'm struggling with street epistemology and philosophy in general. I don't know what is up and what is down anymore.

So I scored a contract deal with a fairly large board/card game company to make an app for them. I graduate in a few days and it will be really nice to finish this app for them to put it on my resume. Here's hoping I don't fuck up some how.

This is the point of the P-zombie debate: You can design robots to 'recognize' their own reflection...having certain pattern recognition capabilities doesn't necessarily mean you're conscious (p.s. I take it as a probabilistic likelihood that cats, dogs, elephants, dolphins, etc are conscious...the problem for me comes when talking about "proof") Except animals are not robots and have evolved through the same natural processes as humans.

The Tuss was an easy one for me. However, Steinvord, despite being a name I see Richard using and sounding like something Richard would do does not invoke the 100% confidence I had when I heard The Tuss.

oh shiiiit !!!! this is surpassing any expectations regarding this thread ! that Ass song though ! Yeah, that ass song is actually not terrible. The lyrics are, but the music and vocals aren't really bad.... Naomi is next level shit. Naomi and Otto Von Schirach supergroup pls I vote this best home made anything ever. Would you say she is Badong?

Season started off so strong IMO. I don't quite like drifting from plot to plot.- 2,122 replies

So if Richard D. James does have an AMA, I'm going to ask him if he is Steinvord. I don't think he is.

Dads a huge Tangerine Dream fan since they first debuted. Played some syro for him, first thing he tells me is its heavy, next thing he tells me is I can make that on my computer.
-
I feel like he's been incredibly brave using so many raw synth sounds together with so little processing. Most producers would instinctively push things back in the mix with reverb and stuff, but on Syro they're all right at the front jostling for position, and it all works so well! that's what gives me a much stronger analord 1-9, 11 vibe of all these 'raw synth' tracks. It sounds like work-flow wise the setup was closer to Analord than Rushup Edge. Whereas Rushup had a lot of post-processing/mini edits and breakbeats with the synths, this to me sounds like almost all hardware sounds (the noisefloor is even more pronounced on some of these than Analord too) it's just astounding to me how 'off' professional music reviews of 15 years can be about the sounds being used in a particular record. Joe Muggs said every song was 'acid + breakbeats" or something to that effect. it's by far the most purely synth heavy record he's ever put out besides analord. Yeah, a lot of people just really don't know how to describe things I guess. lel. This album doesn't sound anything like Drukqs, or Tuss, or even Analord to me (although I think you're right about the almost all hardware comparison in regards to the latter). Was surprised at how laid back it is, just really relaxed fun tunes all of it. That last half of XMAS_EVET10 tho. Amazon. That track really stood out on first listen. People who were saying things like 'this is Tuss +++', combined with the bpm info on these tracks, combined with things people were saying like 'experimental, gets really crazy towards the end' had me pulling a face like this expecting some insanely dank Death Fuck on steroids insanity or something But actually despite the fast bpm that second to last track doesn't feel frantic at all, and the transition into Aisatsana isn't jarring like I feared it might have been from people saying they thought it felt 'tacked on'. Absolutely love the last track, so so so good. Cri everytiem. Looking forward to getting to know this album better and really looking forward to getting the wax in the post too Couldn't agree more with you. There are some elements of Drukqs specifically how much Earth Portal Mix reminds me of ZiggomaticV17. Otherwise its exactly as you said. More laid back which probably describes Richard's life right now. His music has always reflected his emotions. Dark, frantic, calm peaceful all stuff of his past that he's already conveyed into music excellently. Now he has matured and this albums totally reflects it. Anyone else find some really jazzy moments in some tracks?

People comparing this to The Tuss and I just don't feel that way about it. I see them as two totally different works which can't be related. IMO Sometimes I feel like I'm listening to a video game sound track which isn't a bad thing.

The average person won't buy something if they already own it, look at PC games, look at the dip in album sales in recent years and look at the state of the film industry. The average person won't buy something they don't like or can't afford.

My computer has been acting up so I took a look inside. Water loop has algae growing in it. Tubes went from crystal clear to green gunk. Learned a lot about how to maintain a loop though. Will be a few days without my gaming rig, maybe now I'll be able to focus on some school work. Even once my new tubing arrives I'll still have to see if that fixed my PC woes or if I have to waste more time fixing it, might just reformat.

I was shocked and surprised when Plaid came to Houston on their new album about 20 people showed up 5 were friends and we got to hang out with them. I seriously hope Richard Decides to come to Houston to promote his album. I'm sure he'd get at least a 100 people. Heck I just hope he comes to Texas. Any other place in the US is stretching it for me but I'd try to make it.
