  1. I delivered to a house that had this printed out (just the text). Ashamed to say I did not yell ding dong.
  2. lol yeah, I've been saving up for a gumball. Also, definitely a playlist the song is on has done all the heavy lifting... but the listeners are giving multiple listens by the looks of things, and many are saving it for their own collections, so... I guess it is resonating!
  3. One of my songs on Spotify just shot from 20 streams a day to 2000+ this weekend... 2500 on Sat, which is more in a 24 hour window than total streams for my previous most popular song in the summation of its existence (several months). WTF??? No idea what happened, and I'm still trying to process it. Hopefully not just a glitch in the spotify matrix...
  4. Boooo patriotism. Might still find a high point to observe the multitude of fireworks displays on the distant horizon. That's always kind of neat.
  5. Motel Continental Breakfast Starter Pack hit hard.
  6. I noticed a "steampunk" category on usedvictoria.com, so clicked to check out the hot ticket items from that scene. It was mostly this: https://www.usedvictoria.com/steampunk/37314419
  7. I invented a new genre of relationship that I wanted to call monopolyamory, but that word's already been taken to describe relationships where one partner is poly and the other is mono(gamous). My new relationship genre is one where someone is seeing several people who collectively provide all the important aspects of what would normally constitute one partner. The twist is that none of them are officially in that role. So person A might be really empathetic and supportive, person B is a great conversationalist, person C argues but also provides epic LOLs, person D is down for music listening marathons, and person E makes sex happen. Communamory? Transformery? Split Personamory? Partner Dysphoria? Nu Monopolyamory? Tinder-core?
  8. My choices are as expected here as to not be worth mentioning... but you know who doesn't get enough love? Funkstorung. Everything they did that wasn't ruined by the wrong vocalist is absolutely top notch. Their production chops were second to none.
  9. I brought the refrigerated tall beer cans into bed with me last night in an attempt to cool down my sheets/body, but it was no use. Then I went outside to set up the new hammock (naked, I might add), which threw me back onto the lawn as soon as I attempted to lie in it. Tried a second time despite newly acquired PTSD from the first try, but it was easily the most uncomfortable hammock I've ever had the misfortune of lying in. So I went back into my cabin and slept on the couch (a first), legs elevated over one end since it's too small for my body. Heatwave can suck my dick.
  10. This thread's 10 year anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks. I hope everyone's having some really stupid first world problems until then. This OP brings to mind two in recent memory: 1. Ordered a sub at Mr. Sub. Get it to eat there. Girl at the counter piles almost all the fixings onto the top bun, then proceeds to press it down directly onto the plate, rather than onto the bottom bun, which is just sitting there naked, waiting for its other half. The toppings are literally just on top of the plate. There's no way she doesn't know this. I know this. She tells me to enjoy my sub and I thank her, then very carefully slide the bottom bun where it needs to be. Excellent sub as it so turns out. But that final exchange took Canadian politeness to a whole new extreme. 2. Ordered a McChicken Wrap (with crispy chicken) because nothing else was open, and I'd already had burgers two nights in a row. Holy mother of fuck that was a bad wrap.
  11. I can tell you've been saving up for this one.
  12. The first 99% of the toothpaste tube disappears in the blink of an eye, but that last 1% that's hidden in the creases lasts a lifetime.
  13. I guess colder climates are more depressing, so that makes sense. But I'm more of a happy drinker.
  14. Is alcoholism more prevalent in hotter climates? I'm not even close to being an alcoholic, but when it's hot as hell (like it is now) I feel the need to buy and drink beer all the time. And by all the time I mean maybe twice as much as usual. If I lived in Thailand I imagine this would be a constant thing, and I would be an alcoholic.
  15. Spent the last 7 hours mostly working on an hour long playlist to share with a Tinder date tomorrow - flol. It's hard making a dozen tracks by different artists in multiple genres sound at all cohesive together. In my defence, she's crazy pretty and has excellent taste, so... it's got to be perfect. The listening date was her idea. Already had a drink meet-up that went well.
