  1. I used to love all the Pling vst's, the first couple were really quirky and then they got more accurate.
  2. Yes, but none of them have the humour of The Falls. I like Drowning By Numbers, A Zed & Two Noughts, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and Prospero's Books, but not much else. I find the acting and dialogue quite bad in many of his work, and that's off putting. Zed & 2 Noughts was the first I saw by him, I thought it was great. Drowning by Numbers is probably my fav. Bad acting usually doesn't bother me that much if the atmosphere etc. are good, hadn't really noticed that tbh. Anyone know if The Draughtsman's Contract is any good?
  3. For 2 8-step cv/gate melodies you could get a Korg SQ-1, you can make it go polyrhythmic as well if you make it an 8 and a 6-step sequence for example. Other than that it's much more limited than the Beatstep Pro I guess.
  4. Ow yeah I watched like the first hour of The Falls still have to finish that. Good stuff. Have you seen his later films?
  5. I think what I disliked is how most of the concepts stay undeveloped. Maybe that was the point, but it also makes the film a bit shallow IMO. I liked it way better than Primer though, well worth a watch if only because it's a beautiful bunch of scenes. Oh, and I thought the blurry out-of-focus softness was way overdone. But this is just fucking great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QYwhrWoLuE
  6. Just watched Upstream Color. Like Primer I'm kind of ambivalent about it. In a way it was very beautiful, but I also feel it lacked a certain depth. Soundtrack is great btw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lUn7BVigYs
  7. http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_zero-osc.cfm What's this through-zero stuff they're raving on about?
  8. http://gregegan.customer.netspace.net.au/ESSAYS/NISF/NISF.html I'll go watch Upstream Colour now.
  9. https://tsukikumo.bandcamp.com/ Last track is pretty tasty.
  10. Watched Il Conformista for the second time yesterday. Beautiful film, visually speaking it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen, reminded me of Alphaville quite a bit at times.
  11. Cheers man, would be cool if you'd add drums and stuff to it :D I enabled downloads on soundcloud, don't have the wav anymore tho.
  12. Got me a SQ-1, it's great fun. There's a little acid noodle on my soundcloud.

That sounds pretty cool double, never heard of that guy. Recently finished Egan's The Clockwork Rocket, pretty cool but I'll be reading Incandescence, and probably Zendegi, before I read the rest of the Orthogonal trilogy. Incandescence is great so far, Panspermia seems to be a big theme. It's got the disembodied scapedwellers from Diaspora, but also some super cool aliens in the vein of Orthogonal. On a side note, finished Ubik this morning, it was great. On yet another note, anyone here read Asimov´s Foundation series in its entirety? Almost through the first book but not really feeling it.

Sudden PKD backlash in this thread lol. Ubik is pretty cool so far but I'm only at 10% or so.

  17. Cryptowen those are amazing, esp. the ones with the layered hills. Here's some square hipster pics
  18. Wow, great stuff! Cosmos is a great record as well, some of it was used as a soundtrack for Shingu, for example the battle theme: But he's mostly famous for his Lupin III soundtrack I think (havent heard/seen it).
  19. They could just keep the interface on the things minimal and then sell a separate controller for all the parameters. That could work with all of them.
