  1. What abouts are they gonna cost? Look pretty cool IMO I like the transistor organ sliders.
  2. I always think like "if I will listen a few times to this track why not take 2 secs to tag it" but then it's a massive chore so yeah.
  3. I was just gonna say I remember you making these mental beat tracks, but I dig your ambient stuff a lot.
  4. 1 of my old man's favourite filems plus Yves Montand (sp?) is ex-police marksman Jansen in Le Cercle Rouge, 1 of the greatest crime films of all time: Ah yes Le Cercle Rouge is good. I liked Le Samourai and Bob le Flambeur as well. Been watching some more Cronenberg lately, The Dead Zone and Dead Ringer. Pretty good esp. the 2nd one.
  5. I have all these cool devices that I want to run cool third party software on but I first need to jailbreak them and sometimes that's not even possible (fucking automatic updates). Stupid shit.
  6. This is great. Reminds me of the old K'nex idea books where they put pics of ppls creations at the beginning and end.
  7. It being a usb host and all, does that mean I could just plug in my korg microkey and nanokontrol and use those without a computer? Cuz that would be really nice.

    Rare pics of Ae

But it says that you joined in 2007. Did you change your name or something? You can look at name history in a user's profile.

No ice AFAIK, it's the space station on the edge of an expanding area with alternate laws of physics (cellular automaton stuff) which they enter somehow and which is quite hostile to them. I really liked the idea of how people are perfectly okay with their identity being only information, and sending themselves through space as radio waves etc.., I think it's similar to Diaspora in that. But now I'm curious what sheets of ice you're talking about :P Just started reading book 1 of the Orthogonal trilogy, so far it's pretty cool.

Quite insane at times lol. Egan takes his ideas as far as they go (and then some) but it never gets nonsensical.
  11. Primer, pretty cool. I liked the "this is not a prank I wouldnt do that to u" part, other than that not much highlights.

Speaking of hard sci-fi, I've read some stuff by Greg Egan a while ago: Quarantine, Permutation City, Diaspora, Teranesia, Schild's Ladder. All top-notch IMO.
  13. I think it means they found it in an old Heechee studio.
  14. Yuji Ohno is my fav composer evur.
  15. Not sure how well-known it is around these parts (or in general), but Saturnia - Muzak Very mellow stuff with nice blurry vocals, it got that Journey (afx mix) vibe in some places. I was gonna say NSFW but seeing as the play button covers the nipple..
  16. Imma watch that Trip, looks pretty cool. Not sure if I told you guys already but I've seen The Congress a while ago, pretty cool too on the surreal stuff.

Poser lol. There's an awful lot of hideous shit coming out of that program. OT: just finished another Murakami novel, Dance Dance Dance. Very very good. Before that I read a short story collection about an earthquake by him. Now I'm back to reading my usual mishmash of a fantasy series, old chinese criminal saga, PKD and Douglas Adams. I will check out Cixin Liu btw, looks pretty good.
  20. Got myself a little reverb box. So far only used it with the Jen but it's pretty rad.
  21. I have that Tascam recorder as well, it's p. nice. Looks very fancy when you mount it on a tripod.

Pickman's Model is a great, quick introduction. The Colour Out of Space is great; Shadow Out of Time and Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family are personal favorites. Those are more middle of the road selections...if you're interested in his dreamier stuff, or the more hardcore weird/horror, say and I can make some suggestions there as well. :) Sent using magic space waves Thanks, I'll check those out.
