  1. I think that's exactly my worry about it, he just doesn't seem as into Tool anymore, even before Puscifer came about, he was dabbling in APC (though I did like APC quite a bit) and other side projects (the Tapeworm project that sadly never came about)... I also just now realized I said Alex Jones instead of Grey in my post, but I guess Rosetta Stoned was a little Jones-ish
  2. I'm kinda on the fence about this one... I used to be really really into Tool, like they were my favorite band. I still love the older stuff a hell of a lot, but man 10kdays was just not a good record imo, It seemed like mostly filler except for maybe 2 or 3 good songs (Rosetta Stoned not included, that track is overrated wankery). I don't feel it had a consistent theme either, it felt kinda thrown together. I really can't help but agree with the notion that they have definitely peaked already. I think it's safe to say they'll never top Lateralus. If they do release another album of Aenima or Lateralus quality I'll be quite happy and I'm sure I'll play it a hell of a lot, but if it's another 10kdays I'm gonna be really dissapointed... I've also thought that it'd be really coo to hear them go back to roots, and not try to give off the "enlightend/higher conciousness" Alex Jones vibe and go back to being slightly darker, angry and rawer sounding i.e. Undertow and Aenima (though that had themes of higher conciousness it was more subtle). I wanna hear Maynard pissed off and bitter again.
  3. Mass Effect 2 is taking fucking forever to install, good thing I dont have classes tomorrow
  4. I'm almost through all the series' I've been watching on Netflix and I can't decide what series to start up next...
  5. My little brother is slacking on shipping me Arkham Asylum for the PS3 so I'm stuck playing Arkham City, which I've pretty much beaten already
  6. lol, i love this video but it's better in slow motion... just wait til the song really starts and laugh your tits off http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehxryUSafdM
  7. Steve Albini said it best about these guys
  8. That skinny frame That tired act She's uninteresting wearing all that black Still she could be such a little girl sometimes Whining and kicking Throwing herself from moving vehicles Running and running Her raven breast empty and cold Pushing my face up against the door It's another night here in something city It's another night with her going somewhere shitty Into the cold city night she goes running and running I wanna tell her "Little girl you run too far in the dark and you get yourself lost" Then like a banshee she screams And I say god damn You may ask "She can't really be that stupid can she?" Daughters - Providence by Gaslight
  9. A friend of mine has really been turning me on to Common and Mos Def lately, I had always appreciated both to some degree and had a couple Mos Def albums, but after sitting and analyzing certain songs by both, I've come to appreciate them to another degree. Both are very intelligent rappers with A LOT to say. This song gets deep

    Death Grips

I can't make up my mind about Death Grips, on one hand I like the raw lo-fi aggression of the beats and "Guillotine" gets stuck in my head from time to time, on the other lyrically it doesn't seem to be saying much or going anywhere... which ends up making it a lot of just noise to be noisy which gets a bit tiresome. Maybe I'll have to sit and give the album a full listen through and I'll realize something I'm not hearing upon just watching the vids
  11. "People pulling knives out of their backs, and then slip in the cracks, cause the streets are covered in their bleeding If you think life is Disney you're dreaming Those birds aren't singing they're screaming And those aren't just clouds in the sky, no Those are deathships on a joyride And they're on our side baby, on our side" - Building Better Bombs, "Deathships"
  12. "True Dreams of Wichita" - Soul Coughing Brooklyn like a sea in the asphalt stalks Push out dead air from a parking garage, where you stand with your keys and your cool hat of silence while you grip her love like a driver's license
  13. 2nd ep is just as good as the first, really enjoying this project
  14. bout to give the new ep a listen...
  15. I was never really following this movie through it's production stages but I saw the preview of this tonight before The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (which was damn good IMO), it looks pretty epic. I like the fact that it seems to stand apart from the Alien universe. I'm willing to give this one a chance. and yeah the first two Aliens movie's are definitely the best.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhK992-HfgI this track is fucking hypnotizing in a deep meditative way
  17. Can't sleep and I have class at 10am, it's my only class of the day though so I'll probably just go back to sleep right after...
  18. I used to collect Spawn comics, but I've fallen WAY behind in the series, and the ridiculous price to obtain back issues from 100-120 makes it kind of a pain in the ass to catch up. Greg Capullo's The Creech mini-series is pretty awesome, I also have the "Big Fat Kill" story arch from Sin City, and I love that one, hope to eventually get the whole collection Watchmen was a great read, I've been meaning to purchase From Hell I've been meaning to check out Invincible and Haunt as well The Walking Dead has always interested me, and I like the show, but I've never been able to get myself to start reading the comic. For an Xmas present to myself I think I'm gonna buy Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Killing Joke ... I've been meaning to get more into Batman for a while
  19. I've always seen Hecq's name around but never really listened to any of his albums, I have seen some of the sound design stuff he's done... pretty cool. I suppose it's about time I give his albums a listen.
